The Outlast Trials

This game absolutely rules. It sounds very un-Outlasty at first, In a large open map, complete some objectives, go from point A to point B, do it alone or with friends. It sounds nothing like an Outlast game, and I was worried at first, but wow does it work well. It does so much different and still feels like an Outlast. It is so endlessly fun and infinitely replayable. As of release, there are 5 main trials that take about a half hour, one large trial that takes about an hour, and then a bunch of mini trials and challenges, along with there being a hardcore mode and a weekly challenge. It doesn't sound like much but its got incredible replayability, along with new abilities like rigs, amps and prescriptions to make trials even more fun. Run different amp builds and mess around with different rigs. The customization of your "reagent" and asylum cell is pretty fleshed out, and you can even arm wrestle and play chess in the lobby dubbed the "sleep room" between matches. In proper Outlast style, fans like me can get lots of nice prequel lore about Murkoff, and Dr Wernicke even has a cameo. This is everything a multiplayer Outlast should be, no wait, this is everything a multiplayer horror game should be.

The game is brilliant with state of the art level design, the graphics is insane also the proximity chat system and mini games are great edition. The puzzles and chases are fun and it's really intriguing when played with friends really waiting for the next update to have new trials and boss enemy. We art design is really nice and also the rewarding system is great as it's not a cash cow game, you get stuffs to decorate your room as your trophies. I have been hooked up to the game since the first day release, just as of now it lacks a bit of content once you have completed all the trials but eyes on the future updates for more exciting added elements.

The Outlast Trials is a multiplayer horror game where you can go into a trial with your friends or just by yourself, and complete objectives so you can leave, all the while you are being pursued by enemies and psychopaths looking to gut you. The main feature of this game, just like all the other Outlast games is the night-vision, which you use to navigate through the dark and avoid enemies. Due to the fact that you are unable to fight back and only have so much stamina to run, you must be smart about how you approach each and every situation. The environments and trials are incredibly well crafted and creative. They make you feel helpless, and trapped within the walls of the Murkoff facility. One of the main characteristics of the Outlast games was the paranoia of being alone, however, even if you have multiple people, the fear does not leave the atmosphere. The relief you feel when escaping a trial never goes away, even if it's your 300th play through. The musical score was excellent, and the range of upgrades and abilities as well as the customization of your character and room made the game the interesting and gave you something to work for. The storyline and gameplay was incredible as well. Overall, this game ended up being an excellent addition to the Outlast franchise, and I cant wait for the third one.

OUTLAST TRIALS (2023) is a super fun and unnerving online multiplayer horror survival game. While it might not seem like it at first, it is definitely very much an Outlast game, with heavy focus on the player being defenseless against various deranged psychopaths and enduring experimental testing and torture, both physical and psychological tortures.

"Set in the Cold War, human guinea pigs are involuntarily recruited by the good folks at the Murkoff Corporation to test advanced methods of brainwashing and mind control. Your morals and your endurance will be challenged."

Overall, this game is great to play with friends and solo as well, though it's definitely way more challenging to play alone. I really appreciated the multiplayer aspect, as I feel there should be more options for fans of the horror genre to play together as well. It makes for an some exciting social gaming. I'm really not sure why all the low ratings. This is a very fun concept with many differences challenges and hopefully more to come in the future (expansions, updates, dlc's etc.)
