Dear Mama

I can't believe someone binged this in a day!

I didnt find it remotely engaging.

Angry cliche teens, adults making ridiculous decisions and the predictable bickering about them, didn't care about any of the characters, tries to be macabre and edgy but fails dismally.

I had to pick up my jaw from the floor reading the other reviewers. To be honest, I am speechless. One of the nice things about IMDb is finding like minded souls here. But I didn't find any this time. I totally and thoroughly disagree with the low ratings.

I am from the Netherlands so I can relate to the language, culture and surroundings. I always love the natural acting by Rifka, the female lead. She was stellar in this show. The young actors were also absolutely fabulous and a special hats off to Ralfs mom, played by Bianca Krijgsmanw, one of Hollands finest actresses and comediennes. All the sets were perfectly chosen, the lighting, cinematography, I just can't find flaws here.

I didn't see the end coming and even had to rewatch it three times to really understand what had happened. I binge watched the whole show in one day. I am not affiliated with the production, actors or in any other way, shape or form with this show. In other words, this is just my honest opinion.

A thank you to everyone who made this show. I enjoyed it and would very much recommend it.

Because of some good Dutch productions lately (Undercover, Mocro Maffia) i decided to give this one a chance. Now i have to say that, Dutch actors who can act can be count on 2 hands, and the mom and dad in this one are defintely not one of them! Really really worste acting ever in first 15 minutes. Also by their kids. I cringed so much i had to turn it off to stop cringing... This is crap for sure...

The way it is put together just makes me sad. It doesnt grab you and makes you want to binge. The music is either to much or way to obvious. I think the main actress does a good job but because of production it looks weak.

I'm not familiar with the book 'Dear Mama' (Dear Mom), so I can't compare. This 6 part mini series is watchable, but barely. You'll have to ignore a lot of illogical, or downright stupid choices by the main characters, and twice as much improbable conversations and situations. Acting is flat. Plot is very predictable. Rifka Lodeizen can do a lot better than this. Due to the tottering scrip she obviously couldn't make much of her role.
