Avis à la une
The best Swansong that this series could have asked for. Seriously, Ed, Edd and Eddy is one of those Cartoons that were emblematic of my childhood and anyone with fond memories of it as a child should which this picture even if they have outgrown the show.
Taking us outside the infamous cul-de-sac, if the show had been a bit more relevant in 2009 it could so have been a theatrical feature. There is an artistic competence here that one doesn't really expect (or need) in these movies. The opening sequence with the title cards.... rarely do I begin a movie with such a distinct sense of dread. I mean it.
The landscapes and backgrounds give a powerful sense of grandness on this Odyssey to safety that tests friendships just when the stakes are highest. I suppose the stakes aren't that much higher than getting beat up, but it's a bunch of pre-teens away from home, anything could happen.
All the things that annoyed me a little about the show are addressed. They made this for the fans and it's perfect for what it is.

If certain theatrical films, like "the Lion King", "Finding Nemo", and "Kung Fu Panda", can be very successful and memorable in characterization and storytelling, then TV movies can be like that, too. And "Ed, Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show" is one superb example.
Basically, the movie centers on the Eds searching for Eddy's brother after Eddy's latest scam backfires big time. (Only the Eds fans know exactly why the scam flops out - sort of.) And all the kids of the Cul-De-Sac have to track them down to avenge for themselves before those troublemakers can reach their destination. Aside from maniac animation and ultimate level of humor, there's one thing that hasn't been overlooked throughout the whole film: heart.
The story of "Ed, Edd n Eddy's Picture Show" has been split into many parts: the Eds, Kevin and Nazz, Jonny and Plank, Sarah and Jimmy (later merged with the Kanker Sisters and Wilbur), and Rolf and Wilbur. But unlike "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa", there's a sufficient amount of story for each set of characters - not too much nor too little. It's all because of the superb sense of direction of the movie. Even the film is almost well-structured, too. (The beginning is a perfect example!) And it seems that the creative artists of "Ed, Edd n Eddy" had managed to take the TV movie to "the place it has to be" big time.
So if you are looking for TV movies with superb comedy and heart, like "Escape from Cluster Prime" and "Rugrats: All Growed Up", then "Ed, Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show" is one best example to see.

I thought that this wouldn't be good since I thought that Ed, Edd and Eddy wouldn't make a good movie, but I was wrong. I laughed so hard the jokes and humor of the Eds. Looks like the series ends here, but it ends in an awesome way that everybody, including the fans, will be really satisfied. The movie has a great plot and its and adventure that stays true to the series. The movie is worthy of being in cinemas, everybody of any age is willing to enjoy this masterpiece. I did not expect this movie to be so good, if your an Ed, Edd and Eddy fan, do not miss this great work of cartoon art. Cartoon Network should have stayed with this show, these kind of shows are the ones that keep cartoon network with high ratings. But without the Eds, Cartoon Network is sure to fall.
I was a huge "Ed, Edd n Eddy" fan when I was younger. Now I'm much older and beyond these types of cartoon. But I still had to check out this movie for the nostalgia. I loved the show when I was younger, and enjoyed the movie quite a bit.
All the typical zaniness that you'd expect from the Eds and had seen in the television series, plus more, is present in the movie and very reasonably so.
The only thing I can really complain about was the ending, which I won't reveal. I think it seemed a bit rushed. Even though it's a cartoon, I see it as unrealistic, even in the AKA-Cartooniverse. The majority of people I have talked to about the movie saw no problem with it, though, so maybe I'm just too bitter.
Overall It was a nice little 90 minute trip back to my childhood. If you loved the series, you need to see this movie.

This film is my favorite. Love the film. If this comes out on DVD and Blu-ray, the rating should be PG. I love the TV show too. Best film of all time. Danny Antonucci is the best TV show creator ever. Mr. Antonucci, if you are reading this, spin off alert. I have an idea of a spin off film for Captain Melonhead and Splinter the Wonderwood. The name would be "The Adventures of Captain Melonhead." Also "Ed Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show 3-D." If you like my idea e-mail me at my e-mail address, agenttortilla@yahoo.com. Any other people besides him and IMDb, leave me alone. Also, IMDb, a film this superb should have a preview on this sight.

- AnecdotesIt's never stated outright but the Eds are all thirteen years old in the movie.
- GaffesEdd says that he can't sleep in an unlabeled environment. However, the previous episodes 'A Glass of Warm Ed', 'Hot Buttered Ed', 'Scrambled Ed', 'Momma's Little Ed' and 'Rambling Ed' show him sleeping soundly with no label in sight.
- Crédits fousSPOILER: There is a scene at the end of the closing credits: Jonny 2X4 and Plank become the villains the Gourd and Timber the Dark Shard, but Jonny learns there's no time as it's the end of the movie.
The a.k.a. cartoon logo that follows has a melon background, reflecting Jonny's melon-themed alter ego.
