Mumbai, Jan 23 – His last film “Tera Kya Hoga Johny” hasn’t yet seen the light of day and so director Sudhir Mishra says his forthcoming “Yeh Saali Zindagi” comes as a relief for him. He says he likes to repeat his cast as he seeks those who understand his style of working.

It's been a while since we saw Neil Nitin Mukesh on the silver screen and the same sentiment goes out for Soha Ali Khan. It now seems that we'll have to wait a little more as their upcoming film Tera Kya Hoga Johny is indefinitely delayed. Though the statements issued for the reason are "market conditions" the truth is definitely much more than just that. Major distributors have backed out at the last moment following a spat between the film's producers over pending payments. Though the film was to release on 31st December, now the film is postponed indefinitely. Karan Arora, a UK based businessman has filed a criminal and civil case against the film's producer Manu Kamaran, as the cheques issued by him bounced. Arora was supposed to receive Rs.1.25 crore a month before the release of the film. One would think, that the release date would be finalised...

Sudhir Mishra has just fought a long and hard battle with the censor board again! This time its over the content of his latest much-delayed ensemble drama Tera Kya Hoga Johny. Apparently, the censor board objected to a sequence showing a police-man trying to rape the young hero (Sikandar Aggarwal) in custody. Sudhir not only put his foot down, he refused to cut down the sequence. Laments the veteran-auteur, "Why does this always happen to me? It's almost as if there's a separate censorship code for me from other filmmakers. Invariably my films get into a situation on matters that are allowed to remain in other people's films." Sudhir finds it strange that the censors objected to a sequence of atrocity in police custody. "It isn't as if I was showing something that doesn't happen. And I didn't even show the boy being sodomized. I showed the cop attempting it.

These would typically be films that don't come with the 'blockbuster' tag attached to them. Raj Kapoor and singer Mukesh were the best of pals and Neil Nitin Mukesh claims that he and Ranbir Kapoor too are good friends. However, that said, the duo also share a competitive streak which he deems as “healthy.” Neil went on to explain his relationship with Ranbir to a leading tabloid, “Ranbir and I are of course competitors. But there's no negative rivalry between us. Our respective fathers (Nitin Mukesh and Rishi Kapoor) would kill us if we behaved like two brats fighting for the same roles.”
He also added that while their grandfathers were best buds, their fathers, adore one another too, thus making Ranbir very much like his younger brother. When quizzed on the fact that his Jail and Ranbir’s Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani were both releasing on the same day, he quickly clarified, “I'd want Ranbir's film to do as well as mine," Neil says.

Sudhir Mishra’s Tera Kya Hoga Johnny will premiere in London in the London Film Festival on October 13. The filmmaker is overcome by nostalgia as his film is premiering in London 17 years after his film Dharavi (1992), preceded by Yeh Woh Manzil To Nahin (1987) and Main Zinda Hoon (1988), premiered there.
The film’s team is now concentrated on making the maximum use of this opportunity. Its premiere in the London Film Festival is beneficial for the film, so they are now hoping the film does well abroad too. Starring Neil Nitin Mukesh, Soha Ali Khan, Sikander Agarwal and Shahana Goswami, the movie.

Anurag Kashyap has developed quite a taste for acting. After playing a director in Zoya Akhtar's Luck By Chance, he's back in Sudhir Mishra's Tera Kya Hoga Johnny. And Sudhir is so impressed by Anurag's acting abilities that he has already signed the Dev D director for a pivotal role in Mishra's next project later this year. And Anurag isn't the only filmmaker playing a part in Mishra's film. "Tera Kya Hoga Johnny stars four directors, Anurag Kashyap, Aditya Bhattacharya, Ashok Pandit and of course me. I am not seen on screen though," informs Mishra. Sudhir is not too pleased with his own acting skills. "I saw what I was capable of in Traffic Signal. Madhur Bhandarkar insisted on having me play the Don. I didn't like my performance at all. In Tera Kya Hoga Johnny only my back appears on screen." Anurag Kashyap, however, has a full-fledged role.

There is something about working with actresses belonging to Bengali origin that seems to turn on Neil Nitin Mukesh. Call it mere coincidence but the fact remains that in each of his first three films, he has been paired opposite a Bengali woman. His first co-star was Rimmi Sen in Johnny Gaddaar, his second leading lady was Soha Ali Khan in Tera Kya Hoga Johnny (which is yet to be released)......

Neil Nitin Mukesh played an anti-hero in his debut flick ‘Johnny Gaddaar’ where he managed to make heads turn in spite of his film not really setting the box office on fire. He was noticed though and soon signed ‘Aa Dekhen Zara’ [which was known as ‘Freeze’ earlier with Bipasha Basu. Now as the film gets ready for release with Kabir Khan’s ‘New York’ and Sudhir Mishra’s ‘Tera Kya Hoga Johnny’ being laid out for release later this year, one is tempted to ask Neil about his career choices and what exactly does he look for in.

He comes from a well known and well versed background. His father and grand father have been known for their melodious voice, yet he refused to follow in their footsteps and decided to pave a path for himself. When he made his entry, critics said that his resemblance to an established star will lead to his failure, however today he is one of the rising stars in Bollywood. Folks we are talking about none other than Neil Nitin Mukesh. Neil first appeared on the big screen as a child artist in films like Vijay and Jaise Karni Waise Bharni during the late eighties. Much later in 2007 Neil appeared back again on the big screen, this time round he was debuting with the film Johnny Gaddar. The film appealed a niche section of the audience but Neil garnered rave reviews from one and all for his good looks and acting prowess.
