Not really worth the time or effort...

When I stumbled upon this 2010 movie from writers Cole Taylor and Patrick Sayre, I must say that the synopsis made it sound like this movie could really be something fun. So I sat down to watch it.

Turns out that this movie wasn't fun at all. Something just went horribly awry for director Patrick Sayre somewhere along the way. First of all, there wasn't really much of anything to laugh about throughout most of the movie. I think I laughed once, and that was when Roland woke up with a beard and a changed voice. As for the rest of the movie, it was just bland and sort of pointless.

The storyline failed completely, and the movie turned out to be less then mediocre in terms of entertainment value, laughs, and it was sort of tripping itself by having no real storyline and characters that were just bland.

The acting in the movie was adequate, although the actors and actresses had next to nothing to work with in terms of script, storyline, characters and dialogue.

"Stacy's Mom" had so much potential, but it wasn't utilized and the movie ended up as a terrible wreck. I am rating it a more than generous three out of ten stars, solely because it did have a good production value to it.

If you enjoy comedies, then there are far, far better movies readily available, and there really is no point in why you should waste your time on this one.

Ruined by Lewd Script and Vulgarity

This film begins with a young teenager by the name of "Tommy" (Logan Madus) who has 3 good friends named "Mark" (Jesse Stevenson), "Roland" (Rashad Monson) and "Juan" (Mario Cassem). And while their friendship with one another is strong things begin to change when a new family arrives next door to Tommy and they see a teenage girl their age by the name of "Stacy" (Harley Fite) and a friendly competition to win her affections begin. However, that all changes and the competition becomes even more serious when all of them see "Stacy's Mom" (Brittney Powell). Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that the idea behind this "coming of age" movie was certainly interesting. However, what ruined this movie was the lewd script and the vulgarity demonstrated by most of the characters. It was all so unnecessary and totally inappropriate. To that end, although the presence of Brittney Powell was clearly an asset, I cannot think of any reason to recommend this film to anyone and I have rated it accordingly. Definitely below average.

Low Budget = No Room for "Stacy's Mom"

Four middle schoolers obsess and try to win over their neighbor Stacy's mom. If you've heard the song, which you probably would have or else you wouldn't have come across this movie, the movie features scenes that follow the lyrics of the songs. Like, in one scene the boys hang out with Stacy and her mom in the pool in their backyard. Another instance, one of the boys is mowing Stacy's lawn and then her mom comes outside with a towel on and tells him that he missed a certain spot. There was a funny part of the flick making fun of what happens to your voice during puberty. The saddest part is that the budget wasn't large enough to get the rights to use the song... or they didn't even try. I don't know. I hope they tried if they could. I believe I saw in the credits that the same band made all the songs throughout the whole movie. I was hoping when I first started watching this movie that they would play "Stacy's Mom" right when they actually showed Stacy's mom. Her entrance wasn't that great either. We saw her from far away FIRST and THEN we did a bottom to top scan. I felt it should have been switched.
