Just finished Season 2 Volume 1. Having never listened to an audio drama, this is the best possible introduction I could have to the format. The characters are interesting and endearing with clashing yet understandable motivations, the story is very well-written with an intriguing and unique mystery at its core, and the music and sound design are absolutely beautiful.
I'd warn anyone wanting to listen to The Sojourn that especially by the standards of later volumes, volume 1 is unquestionably the weakest of the series (especially episode 1, made as more of a proof-of-concept pilot), when the team was still finding their footing. Give it a chance for at least 2 volumes before giving up, it matures incredibly well. All in all, it's great value for your money. Blows any audiobook experience out of the water. It's so refreshing to see an original science fiction work in a media landscape so often dominated by remakes, reboots, and franchises that have long overstayed their welcome. If Daniel Orrett and his guest writers have had experience on past productions, I definitely wouldn't be surprised. Can't wait for the rest of season 2!

I am used to listen audio books, so this was new experience for me. It is basically like listening to a film without seeing picture. So it has all the film has, actors, sound effects, music (I think that is the best part of the Sojourn actually). The storyline and background is thought through into massive detail, and authors provide loads of background information on their youtube channel. Over all I love it. But, I must admit there is one "problem" and that is, that sometimes it gets overwhelming. By sound effects, you cannot hear characters, then music to it. Sometimes I really did not know what is happening there. Imagine really, turning off picture from something like Battlestar Galactica, or the Expanse. And that is, if you listen to it in calm conditions, if you do like in a car, then it is sometimes quite mayhem. In any way, I enjoyed it greatly.

Masterful storytelling and voice acting. The characters are all distinct and compelling. I was drawn in immediately. The Sojourn is an epic sci-fi audio drama that brings you to another world where new discoveries are made and challenges faced. There's something about listening to this audio drama that makes the imagined visuals so vivid. In many ways it's even better than a full video production. The Sojourn is a rare masterpiece that seemingly came out of nowhere.
I can't wait for more seasons to come out. This is really something special. If the creators of this series make any other audio dramas, especially sci-fi, they will likely start a massive trend.

I can't really enjoy this series. It's got this big thing with straw men and propping up others in lue of those who should be taking a lead in certain things. Also the main character is over perfect and a lot of the dialog kinda makes me wanna die inside. I didn't get too far. Only about half way through chapter two on audible. Which I call the better part of an hour in a eight hour season a good chance to see something improve and do well. Honestly save your money this isn't the story for anyone. It's really heavily influenced by modern politics and extremely focused on its romantic plots. 3 stars.
