I want to see this movie cant find it dont know where it is!!? Please someone help me out...I'm interested
Marshall Chess will be airing the movie starting 12/24/2022 on the Chess Tribute Channel on Youtube. It may be uploaded in segments as the
Youtube announcement notes *Ep 1* in the thumbnail picture. It will be fascinating to see as I am under the impression that this version of the Chess brothers story had the assistance of the Chess family whereas Cadillac Records, covering similar ground was full of fictional and misleading history despite the fine performances of the actors. I've been wondering about it for some time and so am eager to see it next month. Fans of the music will find fascinating stuff at the Youtube Chess Tribute channel.

This is an interesting take on the Chess Records story-- less smoothly presented than the "Cadillac Records" version that overshadowed it back when the two movies were released in close succession. There's an arresting performance by Robert Randolph as Bo Diddley, featured in the preview, that might (along with the title) give the impression that the movie focuses strongly on Bo Diddley. The focus is elsewhere, but the title "Who Do You Love" links together the episodes that show Leonard Chess in his conflicting relationships with his wife, his son, his finances, his recording artists, and specifically the fictional character who sings Etta James' songs. Those episodes are less like a continuous plot interrupted by music than like dramatic skits performed during the breaks between the music, and they suffer from incompleteness and from a bit of heavy-handedness-- problems that may be caused by skimping on time for the sake of including as much music as possible. And the music is very good.
Please if anyone has any idea of how I can view this movie please Post in the comments.
"Who Do You Love (2010)" provides a great look into the world of music during the 50's and 60's, showing the audience how Blues became extremely popular and how Rock and Roll was created, so if you can expect anything walking in, it's fantastic music. The cast, including Alessandro Nivola (Leonard Chess), David Oyelowo (Muddy Waters), Chi McBride (Willie Dixon), Jon Abrahams (Phil Chess), Lisa Goldstein (Sheva Chess), Megalyn Echikunwoke (Ivy Mills), and Robert Randolph (Bo Diddley), all put on phenomenal performances, all those that did use their musical vocals singing the classic songs that influenced generations as if they were their own. Jerry Zaks, who as a director has spent most of his career so far on television, has proved to handle a feature film quite well, using very good shots and angles as he had with his three episodes of "Two And A Half Men" (Episodes include "Tucked, Taped, and Gorgeous", "Aunt Myra Doesn't Pee A Lot", and "And The Plot Moistens"). Of the movies I have seen that were written by Peter Martin Wortmann and Robert Conte, this is by far their best, with catchy, funny dialogue and smart, well thought out characters and events (even though based on a true story). The movie depicts the start of a new world of music, something that went on to develop and change into a large amount of mini-genres and has shown all it's listeners a new way to express culture, feelings, actions, opinions, and the world in general. "Who Do You Love" is recommended to everyone, but is a must see for lovers of old blues and classic rock and roll as well as the older audience. 7.6/10
