Stunning

Probably one of the prettiest documentaries I've ever seen. Simply amazing, thank you very much cresting this three episode series about the incredible Japan!

Stunning and beautiful

My absolute favorite of documentaries about Japan.

Stunning views of some of the world's most beautiful places.

This at a calm pace, and with a soothing narrator's voice.

I love it!

Pronunciation

Awe inspiring cinematography. Good writing. High production value - all ruined by the annoying white narrator who doesn't even try to pronounce the place names and Japanese words properly. Very disappointing. Alternatively, the similar series on India uses an all Indian cast and crew and the show is a much more impressive production.

Great images, but turn off the sound and subtitles

The imagery is great, but you'll be better off listening to your own music than listening to the script/commentary which is like a collection of Tweets of cliches about Japan rather than a flowing dialogue with any substance.

Lovely photography, but annoying narration

The photography is beautiful and covers the expected tourist hot-spots, as well as a number of less familiar areas. The aerial approach has the advantage of providing a fresh perspective, while avoiding a couple of negatives of popular tourist destinations: crowds and traffic jams.

The narrator is annoying, though. Especially his habit of adopting a fake Japanese accent to read place names, but still messing up the pronunciation because no one seems to have thought it necessary to sit down and explain the basics of Japanese pronunciation.
