As the rumor mill continues to swirl for Marvel Studios' upcoming X-Men reboot, the latest update comes to us from a more reliable source than an anonymous scooper as journalist Jeff Sneider (via The InSneider newsletter) is now reporting that Julia Butters (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood; The Gray Man; The Fabelmans) is being eyed for the role of Kitty Pryde in X-Men. 

He also doubles down on his previous report that Sadie Sink (Stranger Things; The Whale; The Glass Castle) is the current frontrunner to land the role of Jean Grey, and adds that Harris Dickinson (Babygirl; The Iron Claw; The King's Man) is being looked to play the team's leader Scott Summers, a.k.a. Cyclops. 

At the time of this posting, Butters is 15, Sink is 22, and Dickinson is 28, so Marvel definitely wants younger talent to take on these storied roles and likely play them for the next decade plus.

Will Ferrell had already notched his next starring role for Amazon MGM Studios way before the poor reviews for his latest flick, You’re Cordially Invited, hit the internet. However, Zac Efron has now been cast in that same project. The Iron Claw and High School Musical actor will team up with Ferrell for the upcoming movie, Judgement Day, which was originally announced back in November 2024. Believe it or not, this will mark the first time that the Hollywood heavyweights have ever worked together.

The comedy is slated to be directed by none other than Nicholas Stoller. The popular Netflix dating series Love Is Blind will reopen its pots. This time, the singles are joining from Minnesota and it will be just in time for the season of love.

Netflix just dropped the trailer for the upcoming Season 8 of Love Is Blind on Tuesday, over two weeks away from its Valentine's Day release. The almost two-minute trailer introduces the new participants, which includes 32 singles, all based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The new season will include the largest group so far in the dating reality show.

Movies like Neighbors have proven his comedic chops. Movies like Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile have proven his wide-ranging charm, mixed with a certain darkness. And, of course, The Iron Claw proved Zac Efron is an awards-caliber performer capable of winning an Oscar who continues to show promise as an A-lister in Hollywood. Unfortunately, Ricky Stanicky doesn't advance his game in any of these acting departments. Just hearing the title "Ricky Stanicky" points toward a rather slapstick fun film with relentless raunchiness along the way.

Don't let the kids near this one, even if the film's title derives from the name of an imaginary childhood friend. Despite the seemingly innocuous title, this is hard R-rated stuff. Unfortunately, the end result is a bit of a mess, despite John Cena's star power and committed and sometimes hilarious turn as the titular antihero.
