Come Together

This movie, if you can call it that, is set in the 1992 LA riots and you could tell that the director had either been around LA during the riots or at least looked it up on Wikipedia.

Anyway, steryotyped characters. Including a really insulting (even for 2008) flamboyant homosexual character. The characters have nothing in common except for a couple -Two siblings -the gay dude does ballet with the asian girl

The only saving grace of this film are the two female leads: Vanessa Gomez, and Marissa Sullivan who are absolutely stunning. However, the closest you get to TnA from them is them in a bikini. Literally look at the poster and you see everything worth it in the film.

I can't even recommend you get high to this film, it's no where near so bad it's good. It's just bland and makes me wish for death. I skipped through the last thirty minutes for TnA then just loaded up Mr. Skin to see if there was anything worth it. NOPE. NOTHING. I want my hour and a half back please

I'm glad that someone made a film about my generation of the 90's. This movie is fun,thought provoking and a little naughty. I enjoyed the crazy relationships of all these eccentric characters. There are some laugh aloud moments as well as some deep insights into our generation and how we all must 'Come Together' if we're going to make a difference.

My favorite part is where the Seth the obsessed Rocker dude, tells his shy friend, Jeremy, that every time you try to get ahead and change lines, someone cuts you off. It seems so true in life that whenever you get ahead you have to just do it and apologize later.

The characters are well cast. The film is well shot. It's a simple playful and outrageous movie that is worth watching about a group of friends. It's the 'Breakfast Club' for college students.

It's always refreshing to see a new idea come to life. What could have been a doom and gloom film about the 1992 Los Angeles riots is actually a fun film. Come Together strikes a great balance between heavy handed subject matter and romance and comedy. You have a dog dressed as Native American chief buttressed against a drug addicted musician. There is heartbreak and only 100 feet away there is new love being discovered. What you end up getting is a group of people who through circumstances out of their control discover their own character. It also shines a spot light on the thousands and thousands of people who come to Hollywood to "make it." and realize that Los Angeles isn't for everybody.

The pace of the film is also pleasant it doesn't drag on while not leaving and glaring holes in the plot.

Highly recommended.

... MAN! That's right, folks. Don't pass GO, and definitely, don't STOP here, unless, of course, you're into that sort of thing. So ... I'm not, and I started to watch this movie, not paying attention to who the actors were. I just popped some popcorn, sat down, and clicked the play button on my remote.

OOPS! I knew the moment I saw him that I had been duped by being lazy and not reading the plot and seeing who the actors were. If I had done that and seen "Vanessa Gomez" as one of the actors, I would have steered way clear of this whatever it is. I watched as much as I could stand, which was about 25 minutes, and then I had to turn it off to avoid any further brain damage! If transvestites are your thing, then by all means, this flick is for you! If not? Then stay far away from this and anything else Gomez might be in. Fair warning!

I thought this movie would be a comedy, but no. Just unrealistic depictions of the interactions of young people. Two hot chicks, no nudity, which would have been at least something to liven up this dismal garbage. I watched it up until the final twenty minutes.. the stereotypical gay guy was a mess, taking recreational drugs constantly. Then he passed out, his heart stopped, no pulse... no response to efforts to revive him. Then his friend says that they must do what worked the last time... stick ice cubes up his butt... we see the ice tray... at that moment, I quickly changed the channel. To call this film garbage would be a compliment.
