FINALLY! A series out of Canada that matches the caliber of great Canadian series I watched in the 90s. There are many strong episodes, the recreations are FINALLY very well done with good directing, FX, casting and production values. (Take heed, Scariest Night of My Life, Haunted Hotels and Extreme Paranormal Witness: this is how it's done!)
Like the Love Boat (LOL!) it's 3 stories per episode, pretty much. Some you just don't want to end. Sometimes they go to a lesser story, but darn if it ain't awesome when they go from good to better to stupendous!
Now, why do I have to catch this "On Demand"?? Never heard of this series before. It's from 2019, I spent the lockdown (2 years) glued to the Travel Channel, pretty much and this never popped up once. Meanwhile, they repeat the terrible series over & over again. (Please: no more Ghost Adventures with despicable hosts & other boring Dead Files with silly bargain-basement acting!) There's a whole file of rectangles (meaning: episodes) in a file that go on & on so I have plenty to watch here. Happy. Just wish they'd get to it and crank out more. And get whoever is producing/creating this to help out the aforementioned shows that had promise but were invariably a let down.
What wasn't so awesome was finding a prowler smack outside my bedroom window this weekend as I watching this in the dark! (I have video proof of it, and the guy kept coming back, so the cops came and took care of it) but hey! At least this one wasn't paranormal, LOL!

I've randomly looked up the names of several people portrayed, on Spokeo and My Life, and they all check out. (George Feinstein, police officer in Philidelphia. Ron Fabiani, police officer in Chicago. Jennifer Barringer, EMT, Lynchburg VA). Some of the events portrayed in several episodes are in local newspapers with the details easily verified. The people, places, and dates are all real. Does that mean their story is too? Ofcourse not. But they're not kooks. Not actors either. They have everything to lose and nothing to gain by going public. I'm not so cynical and skeptical to say they're all lying. In fact I don't think any are.
If you are looking for a paranormal show that has verifiable stories and real locations, this is not the show for you. I have looked into several of the episodes and found that all aspects were fictitious. People, places, dates, are all made up as well as the stories themselves. I would not be surprised if every single story is completely fake. I was fooled at first because the people sharing their stories are actually quite convincing.

- AnecdotesThis show only lasted a dozen or so episodes, like similar interviews-reenactment horror series of the Travel Channel. They will advertise their premieres repeatedly, with great fanfare, as if it were their must-see, future hit-series lasting 100's of episodes, but they are soon canceled after merely a handful, without preambles nor so much as an announcement or disclaimer. This has been the case with dozens of similar format Travel Channel shows, including These Woods are Haunted, Fear the Woods, Haunted Hospitals, My Horror Story, My Haunted House, Paranormal 911, Paranormal Nightshift, Believers, Extreme Believers, Paranormal Witness, Extreme Paranormal Witness, Hotel Paranormal and many others. Since 2024, the Travel Channel has aired no new episodes of any of their horror recreation series and appears to be content broadcasting nothing but perennial re-runs. It is unclear if they ran out of writers or far-fetched ideas for these entertaining shows.
