An epidemic is brewing in Montreal. In her day-to-day work, Anne-Marie Leclerc, director of the Emergency Public Health Laboratory, must deal with a food borne illness at a nursing home and an overzealous cabinet minister who is distracted by his family life. And is her husband having an affair?

The disease continues to spread silently. For now, Anne-Marie has other worries. She sets out to prove to the Minister that her lab is effective. She's still hesitant to confront Marc. Francoise organizes a celebration for Xavier. It's a small gathering, with immense consequences.

"Suspicion" Nelli tells Anne-Marie that a strange illness is affecting people she's close to. Anne-Marie initiates an investigation into the deaths of the two homeless people. The girl on the street infected by Nelli's cousin risks infecting not just her fellow athletes but many others. In the lab, the arrival of a new staffer irritates Anne-Marie and affects her work.

The dead can't talk and the clock keeps ticking. School children take a trip and the Marilyn Monroe impersonator accepts a job though she's ill. Anne-Marie needs to know if people close to the victims are coming down with the illness. The lab team does all it can to break the chain of transmission and discover the nature of the virus.

"The Last Card" Unaware that the epidemic is developing a second hot-spot, Anne-Marie focuses her energy on finding medication that will help patients. Will she go as far as breaking the law after a trip across the border to Boston to visit someone from her and Marc's past? Xavier's friend Marcellus and their teacher are suffering from the same "flu" that many students at the school also have.

"Out of Control" Cases of COVA are multiplying; enforced home quarantines number in the hundreds. Anne-Marie redoubles her efforts to contain the epidemic, limit deaths, and provide accurate information, despite flak from the Minister's new hire. Confined to her home, Xavier's mother hides her symptoms, and does not realize the implications of her mother's death. She has one wish, to be near her young hospitalized son, even if that means breaking the rules.

"Consequences" Anne-Marie combats the misinformation prompting irrational behavior, while her daughter looks forward to an important event. The minister inserts himself into the experimental treatment protocol. At the lab, Nelli follows up a new lead in the investigation. Will she find the source of the virus?

"Fear" The 200th COVA death is about to be announced to a city that is ignoring symptoms and still looking for cures, while the countryside sees an influx of fleeing Montrealers. The minister wants to make a confession to someone who is deeply grieving. Anne-Marie needs a new strategy and Chloe, with her newfound health, is an excellent spokesperson. Anne-Marie's daughter has a friend whose grandmother needs help with chores.

"Chickens" A drop in the number of new cases heralds the end of the epidemic but a second wave is feared when several new cases crop up with no exposure to sick individuals. The team works to solve the puzzle and finds a surprising source. An alert employee at the hospital notices connections between a doctor, the minister, a patient who died, and a patient who survived but whose son died. Sabrina and Juliette sell their first ferret to the pet store owner.

"Scars" Just before the official announcement that the epidemic is over, the infection of two best friends, little girls who live near the park where those first infected with CoVA were found, brings Anne-Marie back to square one. The epidemiological investigation resumes but the team doesn't make much headway. Nelli perseveres and discovers the source of the girls' infection, just as Anne-Marie discovers that Sabrina is ill.
