Something great coming from Serbia, a whole new myth to be unpacked: an ancient black magic that is not voodoo or western christian narrative. This is better, more sinister. I have only seen 3 EP so far, but can't wait for the next one. Storylines, separated by decades, characters, eary atmosphere and Serbian dark humor really make a gem out of this show. Makers of Crna svadba (Black Wedding) promise awesome climax. This will be delicious bite for fans of different genres. Watch!

A great adaptation of old folklore, hundreds of years older than the Americas. Think about it. Sinister moments, fresh approach not seen on television for far too long, and a great story packed carefully in it.

Also, great actor crew. This is a Netflix quality show.

Definitly one of better series coming from Serbia these days, firefly doing great job.. maybe they had one episode more then need but still kept tens and everything.

Hopefully season 2 keeps good momentum, which i doubt a lot. Its really good.

The intertwining of faith and magic is done masterfully. WOW! This show can go side by side with the most watched foreign series from HBO and Netflix. Crna svadba is the perfect show in every sense.

Misitical topics, faith and complex story about dark but compelling characters. Slavko Stimac as an antihero is just amazing. I just couldn't imagine him in a role like this, but after watching 4 episodes of Crna svadba I can say that his performance is one of the best I have seen in ages!

As Serbian, I am disgusted at the recent string of mystic thriller/horror series that offer nothing but a lame plot, overacting and myriad of graphic sex/nudity and gore, which seems necessary sight on our TVs. Seemingly such vulgarity is primary interest of a casual Serbian telephile (Mocvara, Senke nad Balkanom, for example). Dialogues are terrible and only get worse. I have seen better make-up done by kids.

It's as if we appropriated foreign models in making successful shows, forgetting that such genres aren't what entertained vox populi not that long ago. I am sorry, but dealing with horror and other mysterious themes isn't our thing.

Great topic, great actors, great production! Uliks Fhemiu and Jelena Djokic are just the best! This is one of the best domestic TV shows that I've watched! Can't wait to see the next episodes. Bravo!

The best series ever filmed in Serbia. An exceptional topic of Vlach magic of the natives of the Balkans finally screened. The actors are phenomenal, the story is dynamic and the music is excellent. The series opens many topics and the most authentic of all is realistically effective or suggestion we do not want to know.

I was waiting for the season to end before I form an opinion.

The main thing I like is the theme. How everything was executed not as much. The thing that upset me the most was - 10 episodes later I still don't know why the show is called Crna svadba, as that ritual doesn't seem to have anything to do with the show (except for the first couple of episodes).

The season finale left us with almost no questions answered. I'm not sure I'm interested in investing myself any more to get them.

Screenplay is all over the place and pretty bad. I find it the weakest link of this show. Dialogue is unnatural, characters are one-dimensional. Main parts of the plot are predictable, which I don't mind when everything else makes sense. The second and third episode felt like fillers, and shouldn't have lasted more than 15 minutes in total (I'm all for giving characters some background and bulding suspense, but that was lacking). Some characters disappear and reappear, and by the time they are back I have no idea who they are.

Mixed feelings about cast as well, some actors were great, some not, some seemed as though they were given terrible directions.

I really wanted to like this, but there's room for a lot of improvement in story-telling.

In order for someone to appreciate the value of the series, one needs to know the folklore of the Vlachs. There is also a twist of real events that are intelligently inserted into the story. The series holds attention and we expect a serious culmination of events.

I have watched all domestic series in the genres that interests me. More or less, nothing is representative or comparable to world productions, but it is interesting to watch and study. The series "Crna Svadba" (Black Wedding) is the most highly regarded, and the filming of the second season has just begun. The first season had an impressive beginning and a catastrophic ending. Personally, I believe that this series would not have been more successful than others if it hadn't been shown on RTS, which has high ratings. The media's attention was drawn to the naked actresses and scenes of violence and sex, although there were many more interesting things in the show. I eagerly await the continuation of the series, regardless of the ending that was below any level. By the way, the series has almost no connection to its title. Slavko Stimac - the best performance.

From me, it gets 7/10.

Crna svadba is one of my favorite serbian TV shows, so far! This is how you combine traditional music and beliefs with the modern age stories. Apart from the great acting and production, great music is what I appreciated the most!

It is good but it could be done way better. The theme is great, and budget seems high, production is great (picture quality, scenes), but dialogs and flow could be much better.

After i watched show and saw its rating, i felt need to jump here and give contribution in correcting it. Clishe after clishe, poor acting, awful dialogues, plot from American B movies, lots of obvious stupidities (agent of "Bezbednost" for example), needles sex scenes, and so much more. Good first three episodes, good overall idea, great opening titles, good cinematography, great music and (occasionally) directing. But not enough for 8.

Congratulations to the production and the crew that filmed this TV show! It should be on Netflix. Just loving the unique story and mix of good and evil in this show.

As usual, I'm surprised about the negative reviews. Don't be fooled by such negative reviews. The story is crystal clear. Nothing confusing or ambiguous. There are two time lines in the movie. One is happening in 1976 and the other is current situation. Nothing was revealed in the initial stage. As the story moves on, we understand the plot as well as the connection between the two time lines. Nudity in this series involves only few topless scenes (till episode 7, when I write this review). When compared Black Sun, sexual situations are very less. Similarly Cracow Monsters, another excellent Eastern European series was also poorly reviewed. It shows a planned attack on Eastern European series and movies. But I don't understand the motive. I think it's time for IMDB to curtail such malicious, purported negative reviews. Anyway, fans of supernatural thrillers should not miss this series.

There should be the option to binge the whole season! I just can't wait this long to watch the next episode...It's that good of a show, trust me! You have to watch it.

Finally a mystical theme! I recommend this show to all of you who love mystery, thriller and drama. The whole team have really done a gread job! 10/10.

Thank you writers, director, actors all! A great, intelligently wrought mystery: disciplined , imaginative choices (with no interest in boring gore fests or cheap horror tricks) make this one of the best-ever forays into the battle against demons. Subtle, real.

And that's about all I want to say. But apparently my review is too short. So.....one of the first delights was the sense of place which hit me between the eyes in the village in the opening episode....that combined with what happened in that episode, shocking but real, quite hooked me.

The characters are REAL.....some of them rather irritating at times.

All good good good. I look forward very much to the second series.

I really think that Netflix should broadcast this TV show! It is amazing and so unpredictable....you never know what to expect.....even at the end you do not know who to trust and who is on a good side.... I really recommend it.

Too many dialogues in the script that sound so unnatural to the native Serbian. It feels like somebody took an American low-budget soap horror show and just translated it with zero effort for adaptation. A couple of great actors (like Nikola Kojo) managed to increase the poor quality of their lines to an okay level, but it's still cringe. Standard Serbian sex, nudity and vulgarity are present. A couple of cool technical details, but terrbile CGI (driving scenes are so painful to watch). If you're into religeous, black magic and mystery stuff, you'll be entertained by the plot for a couple of hours, otherwise you'll fall asleep instatly, because the narative is soooo slow.

I actually like it. It's funny because in Balkans there are lots of places with people still believing in demons and dark forces. One thing I don't like are those sex scenes, just because there are so many of them in Serbian movies lately. It's not artistic or intriguing, they are just boring and crindge.

This the best serbian series ever made.

Production is very good, cast is also very good, but personally role of Petar could be better actor like Vojin Cetkovic or Zarko Lausevic.

I was excited watching this show and it has been keeping me watching, but there are some things that were way too unnecessary that almost ruined the show. Opening theme is excellent, actors were not that special, great story, so I will rate this with 9.1.
