Perfect Film

This is the first QCinema Film I've watched. A PERFECT movie, I enjoyed this one a lot. Great cinematography, shots, visuals, and color. The acting is commendable especially the lead star Janine Gutierrez. This one deserves more audience.

The acting was convincing

The lead girl's expressions were perfectly done and her transformation into power was believable, bravo to all the young actors in this film they were entertaining compared to the oldsters. The movie made me feel as is I was back in the Philippines walking in the ally way looking to buy some delicious balute.

This great movie veers away from its strength at the halfway mark...

This thriller from the Philippines ("Babae At Baril"), stars Janine Gutierrez in a mesmerizing central performance. If there is one small complaint, it is that the film veers away from her character at the halfway mark... just when we reach a climactic point. If we had stayed with her from start to finish, this would have been a masterpiece.

Realistic except....

The story, settings and people are believable. Characters may not act like you would expect but no one acts in an unrealistic manner.

The settings are shot with great lighting that doesn't take away the grittiness of the city's underbelly.

Although I think the flashback sequence feels jarring and unnecessary, you can chalk it up to artistic license. Still very watchable though.

Only one thing irks me and it's a pivotal plot point... REVOLVERS DON'T HAVE SAFETY SWITCHES!

They did get the number of bullets right though.

Believable characterization

Thankful for these kinds of Filipino movies that tackle issues other than falling in love or family drama. The build up of the character from timid to gun touting was believable even though the film ran for only about 90 minutes. More like this movie please !
