I thought it was funny man..... yea a disgusting scene or two but I laughed mostly through the movie...It was cool. The girl who pulled the sword out of her ass, that was funny. The dude who look like prince, he was funny as hell to. And the gay pimp when he said,"datum you looked like you fell out a tree", that was funny too cause the chick did look like she was CHAPPED...lol. JOJO, (kevin Hart) was his self. J Anthony Brown was funny as hell. Like a knock off Judge Joe Brown but more ghetto. Oh, black cop white cop was also funny too. The white cop was just horny the whole time and the black cop, well, he wasn't no different from what I see in Houston right now. smh. Overall the movie was a simple made move that was funny. Oh that chick that kept singing. What about the Children?.....lol. and the microphone just slides out of nowhere....lmao..
I'm sure you have all had a teacher tell you that everyone begins the semester with an A. I have the same approach to movies. Even if I expect the movie to fail, it begins with a 10/10. If a full movie is analogous to a semester, then "Something Like a Business" dropped to an F after the first week. I watched thirty-eight minutes and that was thirty-five minutes too long.
The premise was a dumb one, but not unsalvageable. Jojo (Kevin Hart) had to run his uncle's pimp business after he died. This could've been a riot. It certainly had the talent: Kevin Hart, Donnell Rawlings, Earthquake, Chris Spencer, Kym Whitley, Keith David, and David Alan Grier. Unfortunately, this was a hodgepodge of bad sketches all forced into an aimless movie.

This movie won't appeal to everyone, especially today, due to all the "Wokeness" so prevalent and so demeaning in our society. It was an extremely well done satire of all of the stereotypes: black, white, Italian, police, women, men, prostitutes, "John's", etc. And the folks who wanted to be like each of those stereotypical people. If we can't laugh at ourselves, we will never get any better. And this movie definitely laughs at each and every stereotype. While I didn't find all of the jokes to be funny, most of them were. What more can you ask for but an entertaining movie that makes it's point well?
This was a horrible movie. Do not waste your time. The stereotypes were played out (even at that time) and you can see the writers have real issues with Black women of a darker hue. To think that this was passed off as comedy when it's really tragedy is the most comical part of it. I can see why it was a straight to DVD movie...
