This is not a film that is pretentious. Instead, it is a rather charming comedy and a nice film to watch if you are looking for some easy laughs. As the other review said, some of the characters are clichéd - so what? If you are an American watching this you will be transported into a world you likely never knew existed. It always interests me to see how people are the same wherever they are in the world, and also how they are different. We have in this film a clash between the impersonal modern world, and a slower way of life where everyone is connected. I think anyone who is disappointed by this film simply expected it to be something that it is not.

I am a big fan of Polish cinema, so I decided to watch this flick on DVD (luckily enough, it was subtitled). I couldn't be more disappointed. Clichéd characters, a cheesy love story, all those not-so-funny jokes... And, what is worse, the actors turned it into a complete farce. The only thing that seemed OK was the camera work. As for the writing, it was shockingly bad. They made much better films in the past. If you want to watch a good Polish comedy, find a copy of Sexmission, a great science-fiction comedy directed by Machulski (I liked it much better than his famous Vabank). Don't waste your time on this dross!
