Wild Little Love

Wild Little Love were one of the films by Director Benedict Mique, together with ML, Momol Nights and Two Love You. It features one of ABSCBN's "The Gold Squad" love teams. At first look, Wild Little Love is just your typical teen romance comedy with nothing but tweetums and hyped up conversations to afloat the story, but watching it you are definitely in for a wild surprise!

The love story of Jake and Sam is the center of the film, as they fell in love, layers of ideas were conveyed, although the scenes were too leading to what is next, what makes it special is a well-crafted script, it was mind blowing, of how an over-used backbone could be so fresh and vibrant! it was the weapon of the movie.

The performance of the teen actors who played Jake(Seth Fedelin) and Sam(Andrea Brillantes) were impressive for a first movie team up. They were both successful in giving' their characters depth and fortitude, their scenes and delivery are what memorable movies are made of.

Wild Little Love is not little, it has substance that would feed both the hearts and minds of the target audience. Its a pleasant, enjoyable and clever movie.

No Philippine local teen film has caught my attention lately than that of Benedict Mique's Wild Little Love. The first movie team up of Seth Fedelin and Andrea Brillantes.

The location was picked for a reason, to make the movie relatable, and this objective was well achieved! Despite of an over-used "map" it took an astonishing new turn.

The love story of Jake and Sam, was shortly depicted but was clear and evident on their scenes together, their conversations will give you "butterflies" but at the same time, touching and mature, it makes Seth and Andrea's love team skipped that "tweetums stage" and it gives the film so much uniqueness and character. Their performances were very good, Sam is misunderstood, but strong and determined all were shown by Andrea's portrayal. Jake was street smart, down to earth, but with a good attitude brought about by his Father, all evident in Seth's eyes. The supporting characters are also note worthy.

In the end, all were given resolutions and just the right scene that leaves you wanting and looking forward for more.

Well, it took a while before I gave in and watch this movie in iWantPH since the plot for me is so overused and most likely I will end up regretting to watch. I was right, typical story and nothing surprising. I felt this was somehow a spin-off of the KathNiel movie, "Crazy Beautiful You", very similar plot. The actors are good but it did not quite make up on how predicable the next scenes will be. It makes sense why this was rated low by movie enthusiasts and some did not bother at all.

The fans of the loveteam featured in the movie will surely watch and love the scenes though.

Watching the first 15 minutes of the film, I already know the plot. The storyline is not original and is a typical story that was done over and over again. There was nothing new about it. Very disappointed and I did not enjoy it. A waste of great talents such as Carmina Villaroel.

Wild Little Love premiered on TV and i end up watching it on iwant for the uncut version. These were the kinds of movie where you don't like the story BUT because of its execution you cannot rate it low.

You would not be impressed by the story, but u would be satisfied by the all the other elements of the film. The script, the scenes that would play right on your emotions, the music and the acting, like what i said, it was greatly executed.

The film banked on Seth Fedelins and Andrea Brillantes' chemistry, it was really showcased in the film and it works, plus Andrea's flawless portrayal, she carried the movie in her shoulders.
