Super heartwarming

I absolutely loved this! Love the Fab 5 and the extremely deserving people they helped. I want to go to Japan now! So cool learning more about the culture.

Just as beautiful as ever

The same blend of humour, fabulousness, moving stories and amazing people. I just find myself crying 5 minutes in to every episode because they choose such deserving people to be made-over. This Japan series is just as gorgeous as the regular series and is a good reminder but there are people all over the world who need a little bit of the fab five.

I saw some really low ratings on the individual episodes which I really don't understand. I hate to say it but I think there may be a sense of bigotry there and the fact that they're not in America and there are subtitles to read in the episodes. Obviously if you're a true QE fan, then you appreciate other cultures and diverse backgrounds and so the fact they're in Japan is only a plus. I hope there will be more accurate ratings soon to reflect the incredible work the boys are doing in this mini-series.

I hope they continue to do trips to other countries!

As ever, beautiful work by the fab 5.

Fun and moving!

I absolutely loved this series. The connection they formed with each person and how they helped them become more confident was truly moving! And of course... there was the fabulousness the Fab 5 are known for!

As a side note, the other review on here whinging about subtitles?!? Err did you not see they were in JAPAN! Of course there's going to be subtitles. How silly and rude! Did you expect them only to deal with English speaking Japanese? Ridiculous and bigoted.

Watch it, read it and love it!

Fab5 melted Japan's heart

I'm from Japan and a huge fan of Queer Eye. I couldn't wait for this series because they are here finally! The struggle as a part of lgbt, tight society are true, and stressful small living spaces in the city are also real. People here forget to have fun and how to be yourself sometimes. You can see what I mean when you see people crying in each episode. How Fab5 treated and hugged people gave them big relief and happiness!

"You'll never know until you've cracked the egg"

The work that they do in people's lives is so needed. The Japan edition was heartfelt and seemed to really focus on helping the heroes/heroines open up more and be themselves.

Extremely emotional season.

I have been a huge fan of Japanese culture for years. I grew up watching Anime and movies alike. It was amazing to see how appreciative and grateful Japanese people were to the Fab 5. A groundbreaking season I think. This season reminded me of season one, where it looked more deep into the peoples hidden suffering. How they even pulled it off so well, I cant even comprehend. I was so mad when it ended with only 4 epsiodes. I feel like this season was a great educational experience for Americans. All the bad reviews about subtitles and not understanding Japanese people only highlights the epidemic of ignorance in the American society.

Inspirational, while an insightful look into Japanese culture

The Fab 5 juggernaut didn't just bluster through Japan with their American playbook but rather made a conscious effort to understand the culture and help those that fall victim to its rigid conformity. Their kindness and empathy translates seamlessly across the globe and I found this series to be as uplifting and joyful as the US version, if not more so. Japanophiles will love it, Fab fans will love it. As for subtitles, some of the finest films the world has to offer are not in English; give it a little time and it'll be second nature and won't detract from your viewing pleasure at all. Arigato, Queer Eye.

Leave Japan please!

For those who remember the 2003 series, nothing has changed much, even with five new hosts. This time they are in Tokyo, looking to help different people with their problems. Nothing very new and anyone who likes this type of 'reality' may like it, but the series seems to me to be dated and besides, the standards are doubtful, since what is good is what is good for Americans. "The only way is my way". Beauty model is Audrey Hepburn, and decor is a loft in Soho and the food is apple pie. Seriously? The Japanese are much better and don't need it.

Beautiful, educational, and touching

During the pandemic, I started to watch shows that I would not normally take time to watch. I watched a couple of the first episodes of Queer Eye and found what the show was about to be so wonderful, but I could not relate to some of the people being helped. Still, I kept it on my Netflix list. Then I saw that the series was shot in Japan, and I was really intrigued. I laughed and cried and enjoyed the whole experience. I knocked the series out so fast and was hungry for more. The Fab 5 have such outgoing and genuine personalities and skills. They use these, and their own personal life experiences, to help individuals who were recommended by friends, family, and bosses. If you ever feel like you don't fit in this world and/or had a tough time being yourself, then this is the show to watch. You learn and you feel. What can be better than that?

Beautiful

I lived in Japan for 5 years and I gotta tell you; the struggle is real.

I can't believe it went so well. Just proves that these guys can work magic.

I really hope they may be able to go again in the future cause Japan really needs them.

Why?

Who is the audience? Boring inside jokes and slow conversations. If you took this exact script and made it boys with girls, it would fail miserably. Bad.
