IIT Krishnamurthy

Krishnamurthy (Prudhvi Dandamudi) is an IIT post-graduate from Mumbai who is in Hyderabad to find his missing uncle. ACP Vinay Varma (Vinay Varma) takes up the case and finds out there's a threat to Krishnamurthy's life.

He lodges a police complaint but shockingly comes to know that his uncle is dead and was cremated by the cops themselves. Krishna does not believe this and continues to find the cause. He gets attacked multiple times and this is also the same time a big company fraud takes place. What is the connection between these two cases ? What happened to Krishna's uncle and What's the back story ? That forms the rest of the story.

ACP Vinay Varma is strict, honest, egoistic and always manages to rub people the wrong way. He is that senior cop who always gets transferred as a token of his sincerity. Krishnamurthy decides to take matters into his own hands when he reaches Hyderabad and looks for his uncle as he doesn't believe the police will look for him. He believes the complaint will remain unsolved. However, ACP Vinay takes charge of the case and digs deep enough to unearth some shocking details. There is also a love story that the director expects us to stay invested in, but we don't. The half-baked nature of it and the misplaced duets only manage to slow things down.

While the first half of the film manages to set up the story, the second part of it is where all the meat lies. Director Sreevardhan has fine-tuned his narrative well enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. The writing is gripping and the grim mood sustained (almost) throughout the film. The best part about IIT Krishnamurthy has to be its unpredictability. And more than Krishnamurthy's character, it is Vinay Varma who leads the show.

Prudhvi Dandamudi, who plays the role of Krishnamurthy, has done a commendable job in the lead role. The young actor keeps his act to the point and lends credibility to the plot. He is particularly good at certain incidences where he acts in a way that he lets the plot of the movie shine. All in all, Prudhvi is able to find the balance between his performance and letting the plot tell a gripping narrative. Mira Doshi is beautiful and expressive, but seems misplaced in a character that isn't fleshed out well enough. Satya spills some laughs but that's about it. Vinay Varma is believable as the egoistic cop.

The suspense factor that is revealed in the end is pretty good and has been handled well. The manner in which the suspense is built up with key scenes in the pre-climax was neat. Comedian Satya does a good job in his limited role. Theatre actor, Vinay Varma gets a key role and he does well as a cop. He is the best part of the film and is getting better with each film. IIT Krishnamurthy is a film that will not put you to sleep and qualifies as an attempt that is appreciable. To know if an IITian is truly brainier than the most experienced cop is something you need to watch.

Movie plot was good but weak acting performance from the lead cast and others.

I watched this on Amazon because it had 62 reviews with 4 rating. That's a decent rating in my opinion for a telugu movie. After I started watching it, after few mins, I was curious about the director, when I searched in google it really didn't show lot of details about the director and the movie rating on IMDb was also 5.8/10 when I saw at then. I thought, it is probably a stupid movie that's why it doesn't have a good rating. But, after watching the whole movie, I didn't regret of watching it. Unlike commerical movies like sarilevru nikevaru, ala vaikuntapuram lo, Sye ra etc this movie has kept me watching without a pause, without getting out of my couch, without even wanting forward. Really appreciate the detail and love they have put in making the movie. Loved how they untied every bit of the story. Really need to encourage these small movies with new heroes, new stories, new directors and other actors. Despite all the things mentioned above, there are few mistakes made, so I cannot give a 10/10 rating like not using helmets while riding bikes. A good film with a good care towards the society makes it whole great picture with a great message 🙂

Excellent and Nice one in the thrilled list but screen play, actors, comedy scene not good. Every actor can't show his feelings and emotions. Also comedy scene not directed properly by director. Background music not good. Finally, story is good but presentation is not good. I think this movie going to be remake(hindi) with proper presentation with good actors.
