American High School

This film is without a doubt one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

The acting is so unbelievably bad. A second grade class musical has more convincing line delivery than any of these actors manage to achieve. The directing makes most youtube videos look like Citizen Kane. They could have saved a lot of money and went straight for a crew members cell phone without the cinematography losing a thing. The soundtrack is a listing of generic rock sounds. This is all without saying a thing about the plot, or as it should be known in this movie, the loosely pieced story that is just an excuse to show breasts and try as hard as possible to appeal to all of the teenage sensibilities. I don't know how much anyone got paid to be involved in this movie, but it was too much. Suffice it to say, all copies of this movie be destroyed immediately.

This might be one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Just looking at the title, you already know that you're not going to watch an Oscar-winner. But this is 1 ½ hours that you'll never get back!!! Normally I'am well entertained with these "teenage-movies" - but throughout the whole movie I only laughed ONCE!!! Most likely, you will laugh to - and then be bored for the rest of the film just hoping that someone or something will put you out of your misery. If you're an American Pie-fan and regardless of how many times you've seen them before, see them just one more time before you spend your money on this! After reading this and you still want to see American High School - afterwards all I can say is: "I told you so!"

Oh my god! I have never seen such an awful movie in my life, i wasted 1 and a half hours of my life that i will never get back. The acting is so fake, the jokes are not even funny & the best part the is the dad keeps on appearing in school like he owned the fkin school.

I would never usually even bother to come up here, register an account and submit an review about a movie. But this movie was so bad that i just had to do it, please stop making awful movies like this again! I would rather watch Hannah Montah the movie rather then watching this again, its really awful.

A teacher in art class wearing lingerie and exposing her boobs? My god how stupider can this movie get!!

Don't EVER WATCH THIS AWFUL MOVIE!!!!

This is a strange movie, as you can tell by reading the split in the reviews, but I think you have to understand that it belongs in the Glee or Strangers with Candy genre --- broad-brush satire that is well aware of how fake and silly it is --- not the Beverly Hills 90210 or Saved by the Bell earnest after school genre.

So the question, then, is how well does it perform within its genre? I think the answer is adequately, but not great. There are a few touches that are original and amusing, things like: the apparently deliberate choice of 30 yr old actors for the students, who therefore frequently can't be distinguished from the actors for the teachers. (This is even referenced/mocked at one point). Also the over-the-top awfulness of the wanna-be-cool Hollywood parent, or the lechery of the school principal. But overall the script is weak, not enough strong laughs, and some flat-out horrible scenes that are disgusting rather than amusing and that don't move the story along.

I'd say if you have some reason to study this particular genre (parodies of high school TV/movies) it's worth seeing for completeness sake; but if you simply want to be amused by the genre you're better off watching reruns of Glee or Strangers with Candy (or Glee Gone to College aka Scream Queens). There remains scope for a good movie in this genre. The best apparently similar movies (like American Pie) are more teenager than high school; and most of the specifically high school parody movies are more from the point of view of the teacher and too earnest, ala Sex Ed, or too sucky ala Bad Teacher; or are pastiche (High School High).

It's not "food for thought" or THE empowering movie of the decade. Let's be realistic, people. This movie has 1 objective - and it's to make you laugh. Does it succeed? Above & beyond!!! Give it a shot. There are worst things out there in the theaters.

::cough cough:: HANNA MONTANA, THE MOVIE. grossss. I think I just threw up a lil for typing it out.

Aubrey O'Day's performance was fantastic. Granted, she is already comfortable with being in front of the camera since her reality TV series "Making the Band" with P.Diddy and with being on the cover of last month's PlayBoy. ..so so so sexy.. She impressed me with her acting skills and please let's not forget Nikki Ziring CALIENTE performance. LITERALLY. lol

This film is a adolescent's dream since the plot has a high involvement of fornication. But the story stems from high school issues not normally discussed and brought up... like marriage.

Overall, American High School gets a B+ from me. It was fun, entertaining and hilarioussss!
