My wife and I gave it an episode. Yes, and we gave up. We are discerning viewers, but couldn't figure anything out ... the color scheme ... film jumping ... the ice tea showing up ... and that thing at the end with the funny ears. We realize explanations in future episodes might have been in order, but we weren't going to wait.
I'm sure first year film students (and those that love them) will howl in delight at the obvious international blunders, cliches, and celebratory ineptitude. For anyone else might I suggest that life is too short.

I guess this is some kind of vanity project for the producer/writer/director of this thing. I'm not sure what the target audience for this series is, but I would like to think there isn't one. Maybe I'm missing out on the joke, but I'm okay with that.
Some of the worst acting I've seen all year!!!!! Trust me there's been no shortage to compare it to!!!!!!!!!!!! Flat, no emotion, no life!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I get he's suppose to be this laid back kind of guy, but geez, I was waiting for someone to wheel a crash cart in, just to get some hearts beating, and put some life into this series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't waste your time, I wasted mine for you...... Cheers! X.

It's that apparently you can film and edit an entire tv show on an iPhone.
I'm assuming the iPhone in question wasn't purchased specifically to shoot this series, as that would have taken the budget to the heady heights of including three digits.
The colour space, obviously meant to be "noir" jumped about all over the place, one frame it's a desaturated b/w, then suddenly there are hints of colour, and then suddenly a sepia.
These issues paled into insignificance compared to the scriptwriting and acting, both of which were just appalling. I really cannot convey just how dire both the script and the delivery are.
All in all, Hargrave has to be possibly the most amateurish rubbish I have ever had the misfortune to sit through, it really is just appallingly bad.

There is not enough beer in the world to make this watchable. The acting is bad, the dialogue meandering, and the plot is boring. Don't get me started on the "cinematography ". Everything is either sepia or black and white and there is one colored object for whatever reason. And it is shot from weird angles - like the bottom half a car while a character is walking to the car. The main character Hargrave - it's hard to know if he is a police officer or a private investigator. He dresses like the 1950s or 60s, but drives a modern car. I gave up after one episode- totally not worth the effort to stay engaged.

The best part of this was reading the self aggrandizing bio of Henry and then all the bad reviews in IMDB. It's obvious some people like Henry and his wife don't know when to throw in the towel and get real jobs like driving a truck or waitressing. I actually watched most of it as a sort of masochistic exercise. The concept, the writing, the acting, the cinematography convinced me that perhaps film making is one of the most difficult endeavors to pursue, particularly for people who should be truck drivers or waitresses. Using ones child in projects like this could be considered abuse particularly if they have to wear elf ears. I sincerely hope the child can find a good therapist.
