The film's two central male characters, Thomas Norton and William Norton, played by Matthew Holmes and Darren Holmes respectively, are real life brothers.
The film was made over a number of years and shot predominantly on weekends.
Three hundred people volunteered to work on the film. The movie was made by an entirely volunteer cast and crew.
It was South Australian film-maker Rolf de Heer and Molly Reynolds of the South Australian Film Corporation who were instrumental in assisting this picture to be completed when the production stalled during the post-production phase and required music scoring and sound post-production.
This film's two dedications appearing at the star of the picture's closing credits read: "This film is dedicated to Alice Alma Norton 1908-2005, great grand-mother to Matthew [Matthew Holmes] and Darren Holmes, whose life and stories inspired the writing of this film, and Wendy Danforth 1949-2006, whose commitment and generosity toward this production is gratefully acknowledged and appreciated. Thank you, Wendy."
