While Simon Cowell has had to go all round the houses trying to find the right formula and host for the Xtra Factor he hit gold first time round with Britain's Got More Talent. And that is largely down to its host Stephen Mulhern.
Mulhern quite frankly makes the show. Not only does he do a good job but he knowingly pokes fun at the ridiculousness of the show and the judges. People seem to love the amateurish nature of the set and production and that is because he has the charm to pull it off.
When you enjoy the spin off programme as much as the main one then it must be doing something right, and Mulhern certainly is.

Whilst this spin-off show of Britain's Got Talent provides some additional acts and unseen footage, it's biggest downfall are the long, and sometimes repetitive interviews with Stephen Mulhern. The occasions in which this happens normally involve the contestant trying to explain something, but getting a part of it wrong and being told by the host to start again. This can repeat many times. It does get repetitive and tiresome, but at least Stephen shows that feeling as well. Overall, this is a decent programme which provides insight and laughs alongside the main programme, although it sometimes gets annoying.
I have never enjoyed Britain's Got Talent, I believe that everyone is talented in some form but some people get through on their sad stories instead, which I understand makes great TV but can be deceptive because people then want to vote for their favorite person, not necessarily the best act.
Britain's Got More Talent is the polar opposite of BGT and that's why it works. It highlights the lesser acts who won't get the attention and strips back the stories, showing real people and those real people are often not the brightest bulbs meaning that they are easy to laugh at and Stephen Mulhern, lovingly poking fun at them but joining in and making a fool of himself as well just makes for belly laughs from the start of the show until the end.
On top of the acts, it also involves the judges and the presenters of the main BGT show, also showing what work goes in to the back ground and how they pass the time with ridiculous games and friendly verbal jabs at each other.
I will certainly tune in from now on, and the team at BGMT should be proud of this ridiculous, joyous, celebration of humans of all forms, with the main characters equally willing to be silly and have fun which is what it should all be about. Bravo!

I made this IMDB account specifically because I was so disappointed at watching, for the first time, Britain's Got MORE Talent. Horrific! I expected "MORE Talent". What I got was a few mediocre acts and a lot of silly nonsense by Steven Mulhern. The person who approved broadcasting this program needs to be fired.
