This has to go out of Greece

This season, the previous one and the movie have to be seen! The plot is brilliant, the outcome unexpected, in terms of quality even better than many more expensive productions. Personally I can't wait to see the next season

Finally a binge-worthy Greek crime TV show!

This is a spin-off the movie "Eteros Ego" (in English: "The Other Me") a commercial hit in my homeland and one of the very few promising attempts from Greek producers who seem to wake up in the recent years. I didn't like the movie much, though I have to admit that it was better than most of the Greek crime films of the last decades and that was enough.

"Eteros Ego: Hamenes Psyches" ("The Other Me: Lost Souls") is an 8-part series featuring the two protagonists that we first met in the 2016 film, that is the autistic professor Dimitris Lainis (Pygmalion Dadakaridis) and Lieutenant Colonel Apostolos Barasopoulos (Manos Vakousis). Both of them try to solve a nasty case of a serial-killer who imitates the mythological labours of Theseus in his killings. The mythological references are perhaps the strongest aspect of the show as Greek Mythology offers an inexhaustible source of inspiration for many artists and directors.

The trope of the autistic investigator whose intelligence proves to be invaluable for the final solution the case is a trope that we, as audience, have encountered a number of times, the most iconic example being the infamous Saga Noren of the Swedish/Danish co-production "Bron/Broen". Dadakaridis delivers a subtle performance, portraying professor Lainis in a human as well as realistic manner. Furthermore, Vakousis is great in the role of the homicide chief who asks the professor's help when he realizes that there is an academic angle in the case.

There is a strong whodunit element as well as some really well-made gory scenes, something rare for a Greek TV show. Moreover, there are some common crime fiction tropes present such as the use of red herrings that mislead the audience, thus making the final revelation of the culprit all the more surprising. This is a show that stands a level above the previous similar attempts and it is really worthy of your time. I can only hope for more analogous Greek production in the near future.

The crime show you didn't know you wanted!

This series is a non direct sequel to the movie " The Other Me" (Eteros Ego in Greek), created by the same guys who made the movie, produced by the company Cosmote TV. The whole plot of the series takes place 2 years after the events of the movie. This time, the professor of criminology Dimitris Lainis and his team have to find a serial killer who murders people based on the six labors of Theseus.

I am impressed. In fact, I never expected this show to be that good. The film was great but the show took things even deeper. The acting is superb, the plot keeps the viewer intrigued, the cinematography is top notch and the director has done a fantastic job. The soundtrack is also amazing.

For the first time in my life I couldn't find who the killer was and until his/her reveal I was completely in the dark. The plot is really complex, but in a good way!

I advise you to watch the movie first (it can be found on YouTube uploaded by the director himself in high quality), and then watch the show. For me this series is defenitely the best Greek tv show I have ever seen. It's easily on the same level as many Netflix productions. The producers have done a magnificent job!

Give it a try! You won't be disappointed!

Too good to be Greek

It's definitely one of the best series I've ever watched and definitely the best, of all, Greek series ever! We can say it's a sequel from the movie "Eteros Ego"(2016), but you can watch it without knowing what happened in the movie. It's the best crime series I've watched, it's only 8 episodes and I'm really looking forward to Season 2! I recommend you to watch it (and the movie as well, if you haven't already)!

Probably the TV show is even better than the original film!

This TV show (2 seasons so far) are following the "Eteros Ego" film that was originally produced in 2016. The episodes completely follows the hero of the film, the very same characters exists in the seasons as they did in the film, etc.

The TV show is probably even better than the film, because the producers and director took their original artwork and polished it ever more, even better. It's like a statue an artist is made and he's keep working it on and on. If he's good, the new form of the statue will be much better.

That's it in these 2 seasons. The criminal stories are EVEN MORE AMAZING than the film's crime plot. And again, the plot contains all: philosophy, poetry, ancient Greek culture, a lot a lot science indeed. That's the pure beauty of the "Etairos Ego" (film & TV show). It contains A LOT science in the plots. If you looking for a SERIOUS STORY, something really amazing that will make you stunned and breathless, then this is it! Check it out, really.

I'm super recommending this TV show, its probably the BEST GREEK production ever made!

Very, very good!

A very nice mystery/crime/ thriller series! Nice job!

Easy to find the killer if you have seen many other similar movies or series but still something really nice and pioneering for the Greek TV standards. Keep up with the good work!

Looking forward for the the secod season!

Good for Greece, but....

Let's be honest here. Very unrealistic even for worldwide watch. I don't know if dogs really fetch rotten corp parts. I don't know if in other countries neighbor girls come with a bottle of wine in your door to welcome you. Not a chance in Greece. And much more i could count. It is a very good start for future greek crime series but not the good stuff here. And greek audience has already watched a lot of foreign crime series and is able to distinguish the quality. Maybe my mother or someone over 60 yo would find it great. Waiting for better episodes.

At long last!!!

At long last a Greek crime movie which is at least on a par with its foreign counterparts. Good story, realistic depiction of crimes, atmosperic music, good pace. For someone who has been waiting for such a development for almost a lifetime(since the 90's Greek series "The 11th commandement") it was thrilling to watch!!!

Finaly a greek series worth to watch!!!!

Whatching both of seasons i must say that it os time thos series to fly out of greek borders. Crime noir with great cast great directing and senario. But the most interesting about this series is the way that the ditector gives the story though the eyes of a autistic genius professor eglimatogist. Bravo!!!

A really good series.

The story is like any other police/crime series. What sets apart this production is the quality of the filming and "down to earth" characters. The police work is not exaggerated; it is quite realistic. The crime scenes always give you more then a chill. The score blends well with the narrative. Most of all, like a good police series, the perpetrator of the crimes is not the usual suspect. Conclusion: I highly recommend this series especially for those who like a more realistic take on police work.

Poor Character development and mediocre script

The story allegedly begins by introducing the audience to the depths of criminology by trying to unveil the dark side of human nature. Apart from a few unsubstantiated references about criminology that last less than two minutes in the whole season, the whole spinoff turns around whether god exists or not, and not about criminal mentality, making metaphysical claims about human existence . The only thing that appears to be realistic is the ineffectivness and incompetence of Greek police which is not intented I guess, on the contrary they intend to positively depict the Greek police force. There is little to no character development as they all are preconfigured to fit a role that remains unchanged.

Simply ignore all the nationalistically biased reviews. Such audience is the reason why Greek tv shows have such a low level.

You must see it now!!

Am left speechless by the atmosphere, the acting, the music, the scenario of the series! I have also seen the relevant movie and the series far exceeded my expectations! You must see it now! However I must admit the fact that the entire Greek Police force appears in the series to be fully equipped with Apple products (iMacs, iPhones, keyboards etc etc) is completely funny and beyond reality 😂😂😂 ! Go now and see Eteros Ego it is AMAZING!
