Exclusive: Carolina Miranda, the Mexican actress currently starring in the hit Netflix series Fake Profile, has signed with Artist International Group for management.
Debuting on May 31st as the streamer’s number one global non-English series, and remaining on that list for six weeks, Fake Profile centers on Miranda’s character Camila, following her from Las Vegas to Cartagena as she realizes her Tinder match isn’t at all who he says he is.
Prior to that Colombian project from creator Pablo Illanes, the actress was best known for starring in the Netflix series Who Killed Sara?, a thriller that wrapped up its third and final season last year, after establishing itself as one of the most popular non-English language titles in the history of the platform.
Other notable credits for Miranda include Telemundo’s Señora Acero (Woman of Steel), one of the most-watched Spanish-speaking series in the United States...

Mexico City-based Endemol Shine Boomdog has tapped former Argos Media Group chief creative officer Jerry Rodriguez as their new head of scripted content and senior VP.
Rodriguez, an Emmy-winning TV producer and director of comedy and drama programming, had been with Argos since 1999 where he held various positions of responsibility through the years.
His appointment signals Endemol Shine Boomdog’s steadfast commitment to produce more fiction content in the years to come. Fiction content production is revving up across Latin America as more deep-pocketed and indie players are joining the fray.
In his new role, Rodriguez will lead Boomdog’s scripted team, which created such recent series as “Súbete a Mi Moto” (Amazon Prime), “Nicky Jam: El Ganador” (Netflix) and the recently announced comedy series “Todo por Lucy” (a re-imagined version of the classic comedic series “I Love Lucy”) for Amazon Prime. He replaces Leonardo Zimbron, who departed in mid-October.

Wild Bunch TV-sold “Albatros,” Turner Latin America’s banner title “Amarres” and REInvent Studios’ globe-trotting “Peacemaker” will feature at a 54 series-strong Buyers Showcase, which launches today March 25 as a backbone of Series Mania’s online Digital Forum, Europe’s first big festival experiment in a virtual marketplace.
Also featuring a powerful Co-Pro Pitching lineup, packed by pedigree producers and creatives, the Digital Forum’s industry audience, such as the number of accredited distributors, still has to be confirmed.
Some high-profile titles are missing: Opener “The Luminaries,” for example, from Fremantle and Working Title, and HBO closer “Run.” That said, the Buyer’s Showcase looks set to include five of Series Mania’s original 10 main competition entries and 13 of its 15 International Panorama titles, the festival’s two main sections.
Looking to the long-haul, as it also address urgent financial fall-out from Covid-19, the industry needs festival selection more than ever.
