Kill Speed

I watched this with a couple of pilot buddies of mine. I'll start with what I liked because the list is quite small.

The flying. Apart from a few shots which were obviously CGI, the rest were actual aircraft actually flying, and the production team did a great job of making them look and sound fantastic. The fact the producers chose to go down that route instead of doing them entirely in CG deserves some credit.

But the list of gross factual errors, bad dialog, silly direction, and holes in what is already a paper thin plot pales in comparison with the bad pacing. For me, the pacing totally ruined any enjoyment I might have received from this film. One of the action scenes in the middle of the film was far better done than the one at the end so the second half of the film felt rather anti-climatic.

I suffered through the whole feature. I had to watch it because it is my job. Please, for your own sake, skip the damn thing.

I was interested in watching this movie after seeing the trailer. It seemed like a good, fast-paced action thriller, dealing with meth. Considering I am addicted to Breaking Bad, I thought it would be, at least, entertaining.

The movie has some good elements, and they must have invested quite a bit of money in all of the flying scenes--and there are a lot of them. Unfortunately, this is the only part of the movie that is actually interesting, and well executed. The script seems to be written for a juvenile book, rather than as screenplay. Some jokes are just not the kind of things you would hear someone say, although they may look somewhat funny on paper. There were a couple of moments where I couldn't believe how bad some of the lines were. One of the things I will remember this movie for, is the particularly bad jokes the actors had to say. Since they invested so much into the flying scenes, why not spend some more time and effort into a good script? There were also some obvious technical mistakes with the lighting in some of the scenes, which showed a rather careless attitude towards delivering a polished product. While most of the flying scenes looked good; a lot of the police headquarters scenes looked very cheap. The police chief was good looking enough for an acting role, but; did not match at all, the persona or character required for such a role, nor did the snitch-girlfriend. One memorable moment is when he puts his foot up on the chair while cutting a deal with the main character. It was such an odd and seemingly uncomfortable position, filmed from such a bad angle, that it ruined any little credibility that scene could have produced. Very few of the cops looked like real cops, as they tried too hard to be tough; obviously not succeeding.

Overall, it is a movie for teenagers that are not too critical on either the acting, script, special effects, or corniness of a situation (there were quite a few of those). From that perspective, it can actually be an enjoyable experience. But for a mature audience, this film simply will not work.

However, it was a good idea, and I hope the Director takes advantage of the opportunity and learns from the mistakes made in this production, in order to not repeat them in the future.

Than watch the acting in this movie again. Movies like this should never hit the shelf and burned. I think that if nick carter is going to be in movies, maybe he should be an extra so he can sit back and take notes. He is retarded thinking he's ghetto or even an ounce of ghetto. He dresses like that in real life so you would think he would be a little more natural at it. I would never watch a movie with nick carter in it again. I didn't even watch the whole thing someone was watching it and had to beg them to turn it off. I hope he reads these review so hopefully he can see how ridiculous he looks and how horrible his acting is. There is not even an ounce of talent. Probably wouldn't be that bad of a movie if he wasn't in it.

The plot and story are above average. The acting is above average. The action matches any thing in the Fast and the Furious films. The best part of this film is exposure to viewer of these new kind of plastic aircraft. The stunts, and action was real. There is none of this trick photography, and green screen stunts. The action is based on real life kind of flying done by experimental aircraft. These aircraft are not a fantasy waiting to be built. These kind of aircraft are flying now. Imagine being able to fly yourself across the country at 300 miles per hours. I was impressed with the film. I plan to buy the DVD when it comes out.
