Avis à la une
I went to The New Beverly cinema in LA to see a 35mm print screening of Vincent Gallo's great and highly original film The Brown Bunny. To my surprise Mr. Gallo appeared and introduced the film and also showed a couple of short 35mm films prior to the feature. One called Live Love Drive was shown. Firstly it is a silent film in color. No music no sound whatsoever. Gallo is in it with a very pretty young actress with pure white hair. Gallo's hair seemed pitch black. It is hard to explain the film other than to say it is highly romantic and beautiful. Maybe the most beautiful film I have ever seen. The images were relentless and poetic in a way I have never seen and the silence amplified each second of film. It is not an overstatement, THIS FILM IS A MASTERPIECE. Afterwords I watched The Brown Bunny for my second time. My first time seeing it on film and in a theatre. Man the film blew me away even more than the first time. I have never seen a film a second time and was blown away even more than the first time. Ignore the haters. The Brown Bunny is very special and very worth seeing.
