Much like the great novels of the past, this will bear little resemblance to the book. The novel is so distinct in its literary prowess, that it serves more as something to be inspired by rather than replicated. This has something to do with its failure to get made through the years. A whole new basic story arc must be created by the filmmakers just to tell a cohesive story on film. 'No Country for Old Men' (also written by Cormac McCarthy) on the other hand was originally written as a movie before McCarthy turned it into a novel instead. But its simplicity and simple narrative structure made it more conducive for film adaption.
