The Keeper of the Clay

Writer-producer-actress Christa Bella does a very sensitive portrayal in this short story about a woman who was disfigured from an injury and is afraid to show her face in public. Encouraged by a caring friend (played by Peter Playdon)to venture out of her shell, she tentatively joins a class led by an eccentric artist (played by Frank Borgia) at a local community center. During the course the day she finds her inner beauty with the help of a disabled lady (played by Brenda Usher). The acting in this piece, which was originally produced for "A Place Called Sacramento" film festival sponsored by Access Sacramento public access television, is quite good for a largely amateur cast. Cinematography and editing were also quite passable given the limited resources available to produce it.
