Avis à la une
This could have been politically poignant and relevant, adding an extra layer of unique satire to the comedy. Instead, they totally missed the mark. On both the satire AND the comedy. Most of the jokes fell flat and it just wasn't enough to make it to a passing grade. It's like a bunch of has-beens are trying to make a movie, but they just couldn't get their groove on. Alan Thicke was kind of wooden, Corin Nemic (Parker Lewis) didn't have much going on. David Faustino (Bud Bundy) was good, but his character wasn't funny. They literally got Michael Winslow (Police Academy guy who makes funny sounds) and then only had him make one sound effect.
So the movie just ended up not living up to what it could have been. On any level. This is bad even for a National Lampoon film!

They tried sight gags and littered this waste of time with jokes that weren't even "Dad Joke" worthy. Yes it was kinda like "Airplane" as there was not a serious moment, but this attempt at humor fell incredibly short. If this was a television series I doubt it would get past the pilot stage unless it was maybe slotted for Saturday morning cartoons but I doubt the kids would even enjoy it. The worst was the evil head of surgery whose characterizations were so over the top that it repulsed me rather than provided any entertainment value whatsoever. The basic premise was not too bad but the writing and acting was just a complete waste of my time.
I saw this film on TV and found that it is quite funny. But its rating here does not reflect what it deserves. So I want to say something for it.
In a humorous way, the acting and the story is acceptable. I did laugh at some jokes. I cannot say the story is well crafted since there are some flaws of less interesting/unnecessary plots. But overall is enjoyable to me.
If you look for some "serious" films, this one is absolutely not. But if you want something for a relaxing afternoon, this is the one you may try.

If you like the show Scrubs, and love Data from Star Trek the next Generation, you will love this movie. The movie is about a slimy lawyer who sues every doctor for even the dumbest little reason. And gets filthy rich doing so. The hospital is full of comedy. Ultimately the hospital needs a doc that never makes a mistake, so here comes robodoc to the rescue! Can the slimy lawyer sue a doctor that never makes a mistake? How do the human doctors and nurses take to the perfect doc? It's worth finding out how this plays out to the end. Lately I haven't watched a movie all the way through, but this one was entertaining all the way to the end.
I just saw the movie. Its pretty good, for a B movie. Acting of actors may not be rock solid, storyline may not be well planned, but the humor is certainly very good. There are some of the scenes where the humor isn't really funny. But overall, its good. Special effects (very few) are also pretty decent. Some jokes are pretty good. I will not leak anything in this review. All I can say is, certainly see it if there is nothing better to watch. Way better than the teen movies (which are apparently created in a huge quantity these days). Also provides a view of the hospital industry and the various (and strange) lawsuits that people keep filing these days.

- AnecdotesBoth David and Andrea Faustino were arrested by Dayton Beach Police during the filming of this movie. The filming location was a now shuttered hospital in Ormond Beach. Both were heavily intoxicated and all charges were eventually dropped at the State Attorney level.
- GaffesRoboDoc refers to "bacteria" as singular which is inconsistent with his formal way of speaking.
- Crédits fousNear the end of the credits in the statement of all animal action having been monitored by the Humane Society, the word monitored is spelled with two N's, to wit, monnitored. For that matter, the word American is usually used in conjunction with Humane Society.
