I've always had a passion for speculative evolution, and I've scrambled to consume every TV show made on the subject. This show is one of the only ones there really are, and its two planets are pretty well done-- but they're small scale looks at the worlds they made, and I really wish they had gotten more episodes. The creatures they explore are thoroughly unique while still being more than terrestrial-enough to appeal to people who aren't weirdly deep into the genre. It's basically like Netflix's Alien Worlds with a lower budget. I really wish these fake nature-documentaries had wider appeal because theyre my absolute favorite type of media. If you have any amount of love for speculative evolution, you've probably seen this show. If you watched this show without having that prior love, and you really enjoyed the concept, Alien Planet: Darwin IV (2005), The Future is Wild (2002), The afformentioned Alien Worlds (2020)-- all really good. Theres also a pretty big youtube community, mostly centered on Biblaridion's Alien Biospheres project, but The Ilsa Project is really good and much more alien in its designs.
