Avis à la une
Super Mario Galaxy has to be one of the best games of all time. My second favorite, close behind super Mario Galaxy 2, this game is legitimately awesome. It is a true sequel to Super Mario 64, except this time, Mario blasts off into space! Encountering terrain with low gravity, cool new power ups and amazing graphics, Mario is at his best in this game. The boss fights are the best in any game I've ever played besides the game's sequel.
All in all, easily one of the best games I've ever played, getting a ten out of ten from me.
Super Mario Galaxy is probably the pinnacle of 3D-Mario games to this day. Its gameplay is crazy, gorgeous to look at, and the camera work is a quantum leap from that of Super Mario 64's infamous camera system. The biggest difference between this game and the previous Mario games is that this one is set in space. Space & Mario = a match made in heaven.
Super Mario Galaxy uses sparing motion-control, just for Mario's spin-attack function, and the game has great level design. Everything in this just works so well. Even though the story is typically shallow, it doesn't matter because your experience immersing yourself in gravity-changing situations and the satisfaction of getting a star make up for the usual lack of plot in a Mario game.
Nintendo outdid themselves here, big time!

Like some other people wrote, I'm a die-hard mario fan, and I loved this game.
This game starts slightly boring, but trust me, it's worth it. As soon as you start, your hooked! The levels are fun and exiting. They will hook you 'till your mind turns to mush. I'm not kidding. This game is also orchestrated, and is beautifully done.
To keep this spoiler free, I have to keep my mouth shut about details. But please try this game! It'll be worth it!

Being a dye-in-the-wool Nintendo fan, I have always enjoyed the new Mario titles that seem to be the stalwart of the franchise. I spent way too many hours of my life playing the original Super Mario Bros. (plus sequels), as well as Super Mario World for the SNES. Then, as with most people, Super Mario '64 absolutely blew me away with its 3-D graphic interface. However, I was disappointed in the Gamecube effort Super Mario Sunshine, which just didn't seem to have the right "Mario feel" to it. Super Mario Galaxy, however, brought me back into the Mario "universe" (excuse the pun) big time!
The controls and premise of this game hearkens back to the revolutionary Mario '64, in which players must collect stars (or, in this case, star creatures) in a variety of different ways. The graphics are pristine, the cut scenes are fun, and the controls are easy to pick up and play.
Though panned as being a "kids game", Mario Galaxy offers something for both the beginning and advanced gamers. By collecting 70 of the 120 total stars (a task that is by no means impossible), Bowser can be defeated and effectively "end" the game. However, more advanced games can shoot for the full 120 stars and see the "true" ending.
Overall, this game is another success in the long line of the Mario franchise. After mixed reviews for Mario Sunshine, Nintendo went back to the basics in this game and created a masterpiece. I'm looking forward to the next installment (rumored to be a sequel to this game?!)

the mario series is back, and in my opinion, better than ever. Galaxy is the most creative mario yet; even more so than super mario 64. the controls are great; some of the best for the wii. beautiful graphical design as well. the levels are very big, and the good old bosses are back. there is tons to explore in this game; definitely a high level of replay value. I only have 2 complaints: 1: the story is a little to similar to mario 64. and 2: the difficulty isn't very high; though it does require some patience. mario fans: the game you've been waiting for. Casual gamers: this game is more than worth the buy. 9.8 out of 10.

- AnecdotesIf the player encounters the Green Toad in any galaxy where he's digging with a pickax, zooms in his face and shoots him with a Star Bit, his facial expression changes from happy to sad. He will remain sad until the galaxy is complete, or if the player loses a life. He is the only Toad who does this.
