Bullrun

Bullrun is a reality television show where 12 teams compete in a 4,100 mile road race. The series is hosted by Bill Goldberg, who is a former pro wrestler. The races on Bullrun are competed by 12 different teams in different cars with 2 people per team. Before the races begin, the teams have 2 options on how to get to the finish point. The options are Highway or My Way . The My Way is a route the teams make-up on their own. Most often, the My Way routes are shorter than the Highway routes, but harder to use. Highway is the route the producers of the show have chosen for the race. It is usually easier than the My Way route, but usually takes longer to complete. The only rule is that once you choose the way your team wants to go, you have to stick to it. (Meaning if you choose the My Way route you cant use The Highway route and vice versa.) Each episode also features a challenge designed to test driver skills. At the end of each episode, the team with the slowest overall time is told to hit the road and don't come back.

This is a reality competition show. Twelve teams of two drive their cars in a road rally race stopping at checkpoints where late finishers face off in special car battles. I remember liking the first season on Spike. It's not necessarily the best reality show but it generates enough fun. Then the show moved to Speed in seasons two and three for unknown reason. I remember losing track of the show for a few years before stumbling on to it again. Recently, I watched seasons two and three again. The road rally is different than the first season. It has its moment but is mostly boring. The third season is better than the second season mostly due to the sneaky fighting and actual fighting between the teams. The show does need to map out the positions and routes of the race. It's hard to see who's leading and who's lost. It also needs to lay out the clues to the destination like the Amazing Race. It's fun to laugh at idiots who misread the clues and get lost. The Pit Stop competitions are sometimes interesting. It would be good if they would mount cameras on the front of the cars as they go through the courses. I'm always amazed that these people often end up trashing their beloved cars in these competitions. This is a somewhat fun show but some of it is rather bland.
