    ECW December to Dismember 2006

December to Dismember was/is by far the worst Pay Per View that the WWF/WWE has done. Let down by crap feuds, strange commentery from Tazz and Joey Styles and a weird speech cut by Paul Heyman this was a proper shambles. The best match was between The Hardyz and MNM but WWE put these two teams on the card because they realised that the card stank even before it got aired.

The Elimination Chamber Match was supposed to have Sabu taking part, but WWE shot a p*ss poor angle were we meant to believe that Hardcore Holly had attacked Sabu backstage which was met by chants of "bull s*it" from the crowd.

Joel Ross and Simon Rothstein from The Sun (www.thesun.co.uk) conducted an interview with Paul Heyman about this fiasco and Heyman stated that his original plan was to have CM Punk defeat The Big Show with the Anaconda Vice to lift the ECW Championship which meant perfect sense right? Well not in the eyes of Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn, as we all know they wanted muscle man Bobby Lashley to lift the gold which he did, some fans actually turned their backs on Lashley when he won and rumour has it Rob Van Dam's wife Sonia was one of these fans.

And what gets me is that McMahon has fired Paul Heyman for this but McMahon is the one who makes all the decisions about PPV outcomes.

    Results from the show:

The Hardy Boyz defeated MNM in a thrilling match.... Daivari defeated Tommy Dreamer in a boring match.... Balls Mahoney defeated Matt Striker in a mediocre match.... Elijah Burke and Sylvester Terkay defeated The FBI in a crap squash.... Kevin Thorn and Ariel defeated Mike Knox and Kelly Kelly in a p*ss poor match which was the worst match of 2006.... Bobby Lashley won the ECW championship defeating Test, Rob Van Dam, Hardcore Holly, Big Show and CM Punk in a poor Elimination Chamber match.

I share 2 qualities with this event.

Those qualities consist of: Agitating, and Slow. I feel as if that sums up my experience with this event, and it makes me feel sad. All of this feels slow and dragged out (Especially in the last match) and poorly executed, And while you could argue that the first match with the Hardy's may be a saving grace, even that drags in some aspects for me; But that is only the beginning.

First off, most of the roster who are in each match aren't actually from ECW, and while they are really good on their own, they feel unnecessarily included and are rather thrown in. If they were good matches I wouldn't mind at all, and would actually be very happy about such; too bad that isn't the case. CM Punk, Bobby Lashley, along with some others consist in the lineup.

Second off, the matches are incredibly slow and dull in my opinion. For example: You would believe that the Cage Match for the Title Belt, with all the weapons and talent would be really cool, but no, they found a way to drag it out to fit the run-time. The match consists of 5 wrestlers, 2 starting out and 1 each being included every 5 minutes. And suffice to say that they didn't do a whole lot with this, with the only memorable tidbit being the conclusion, with Bobby Lashley winning with a spear, which felt like a poor conclusion. Bear in mind that almost everyone in that match was non-ECW, other than RVD. The circumstances of Sabu being unable to participate due to injuries did perpetuate things for the worse.

Maybe it's just naivety speaking, but making a Cage match fun and interesting doesn't sound all too hard, especially with weapons, and keeping other wrestlers in close contact even in cages.

Third and finally, this just doesn't feel too put together, if that makes sense. I can't reinstate that enough, because everything in terms of setup and roster feels hobbled together, and the slowness of it all shows, and goes hand in hand in the worst way possible.

I just really didn't enjoy this event, I'm sure there are much worse out there, but this has been the worst so far.

Overall, don't watch this one, unless you are interested in seeing the Hardy's. after that, turn the TV off, and go read a book.

    Interesting Pay-Per View

For the most part this was a very interesting Pay-per view event from my point of view. I saw it simply as a great event with a lot of swings at an attempt to put over the "New Breed" of ECW superstars. So many factors played into the way each match was presented. As many people already know this is considered to be "The worst" event ever produced but I disagree. If you really give it a chance and look at it from the perspective of the New ECW vs. The Old ECW it might entertain you more then you'd think, especially if you watch previous episodes of ECW on Sci-Fi which I recommend you do before watching this event.

Paul Heyman's original plan for the Elimination Chamber match was to start off with CM Punk eliminating The Big Show by submission in the first five minutes to ensure a new ECW World Champion, with CM Punk getting the win and title. Vince McMahon hated the idea, but Big Show liked it and was willing to put Punk over as a big star.
