Activision officially announced eight additional characters that can be downloaded onto the Xbox 360 via the Xbox Live Marketplace. The heroes and villains are Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Magneto, Sabretooth, Venom, Doctor Doom, Hawkeye, and Hulk.
To unlock Daredevil you have to look for tiny figures of Daredevil that are hidden along the levels of the game, the first figure of Daredevil is at the base Omega going down some stairs to the right in the gear factory , the second figure is in the kingdom of Atlantis in a trunk that is in the middle of a submarine split in half , the third figure is in the golden court on the lower floor of the dragon heads that spit fire , the fourth figure is in Murderworld in a room with wine barrels , the fifth figure is in the sulfur dimension of Mephisto under the tree that is on a broken ledge , the sixth figure is in asgard in a small meadow that looks in a vacuum , the seventh figure is in the Ymir's frozen kingdom on the roof of a cabin at the end of the road , the eight figure is in Shi'ar ship a little beyond the communication satellite , the ninth figure is in the Skrull area in a room parallel to another room where there is a trapped skrull and the tenth and last figure is in Castle Doom on a hidden pedestal that is discovered when a statue armor is brocken.
To unlock Black Phanter you need to find tiny figures of Black Phanter that are scattered throughout the game , the first Black Phanter figure is in Stark Tower just behind a few steps , the second figure is in the diving nanocamera just before diving in the acuatic kingdom of Atlantis , the third figure is in the Mandarin Palace in the golden court behind a Buddha statue with deadly blades , the fourth figure is in Murderworld in a room where there are flowers spitting green poison the figure is right where poison and is the most difficult figure to visualize in the whole game , the fifth figure is in the fire dimension of Mephisto along some graves , the sixth figure is in the kingdom of Odin in bow of a viking space ship , the seventh figure is locked in a trunk in Asgard in the middle of two locked levels , the eight figure is in the Ymir's land hidden behind the door before entering the next level , the ninth figure is in the Shi'ar ship above the level to capture it , it is better to climb the destructible pillar , and the thent and final figure is in Castle Doom in the room that is on the other side of a shelf of books that opens to go for a little secret passage.
One of the password guesses in the Weasel side quest earlier in the game is C.B. Cebulski who is the Editor in Chief at Marvel Comics.
The video game has the same gameplay as "X-Men Legends II : Rise Of Apocalypse ".
