Anecdotes
The gold compact from the first season episode, Vanity's Mirror (1988), makes a return appearance in this episode. It is discovered that the compact is a weapon of revenge and feeds on the vanity of whoever has it. In the case of Helen Mackie (from the aforementioned episode), she wanted people to love her and to get revenge on the boys who made fun of her. For Tabitha, the compact gives her the opportunity to retain her good looks while getting revenge on those who get in the way of her career.

Gaffes
In "Vanity's Mirror," the compact had a crack going from the left side to the right side of the mirror almost exactly in the center. Here, the crack is farther down on the mirror and is shorter in length. The crack also runs from the left edge to the bottom edge rather than across to the right.
