A Date for Peter

This episode is very funny. Other people who submitted reviews are under the impression that Ray and Peggy made up on the tent for Allie episode. But, in fact, after that particular show, Peggy returns and is asking parents to pay 250 bucks for a gown to be worn at her daughter's birthday party. This makes Ray irate, and at the end of the show, Peggy blames Ray for ruining his daughter's birthday party because he convinced other parents to not buy the dress. So the enmity remained. What's interesting is that Debra apparently invited Peggy as a way to antagonize Ray. This was a well written episode.

For me the last two seasons hold some of the best episodes. This is one. The romance between Peter and Peggy could have been turned in to a spin-off show.

This made no sense ... last time we saw Ray and Peggy in a previous Episode they made up and got along but on this Episode she's being mean to him for no reason so I don't know it's either the writers forgot about that episode or they were showing that Peggy is indeed a bully .

This episode asks the viewer to remember Peggy beating up Raymond but forgets that the following Peggy episode entitled "The Sleep over" showing them mending that past incident. So we see Raymond understanding her situation and sees Peggy in a more positive light. So in A Date for Peter, Raymond and everyone else react as though the sleep over never happened. However, Brad Garrett shines once again.

Chris Elliot brought something a bit extra to this show, and although his performance was often a bit OTT, his character was likable enough in small doses.

This episode features him heavily, and through no fault of Elliot, it's not a great one.

I found Raymond's attitude a bit odd. One minute he's trying to fix Peter up, the next he's trying to ruin his chances with Peggy based on his own history with her. He came across as being very childish.

Brad Garrett and Doris Roberts have some good lines, but this is one of the weaker episodes of 'Raymond's' ninth series.
