Avis à la une
TTTOTW is a good biopic of climber Eric Weihenmayer, the first blind man to climb Everest. It is inspirational in a big movie way - the last 30 minutes when they concentrate on the climb are very well done indeed.
It suffers from oversentimentality in the romantic back story which is justified but in its sappiness reduces the overall worth of the film.
The film shines when it's climbing in snow, a little shaky and overblown at first, by the time we get halfway the film ignites and is amazingly watchable. We were glued for the lat 30 minutes which were very good indeed.
All in all, a shade too made for TV in the love story - though it is romantic it is too perfect - but the climbing rocks - and is really well done.
If this appears on your TV it is definitely watchable and we found it inspiring and uplifting - and memorable. Which for a TV movie is rare.

My drama teacher was in this movie the filter doesn't allow me to say his full name or his parts full name so I'll do my best (Steve and Kegan are the names) I watched this movie on TV and was amazed at how well done it was. I mean the story was AMAZING, (it reminds me of the pursuit of happiness which i also liked) the actors were great, and i swear that I feel differently about the world because of this!! to be happy for what you have (in this case sight). i recommend this movie to anyone with a heart!! all i wonder is how the trip down went! i would never climb everest in my life and i have OK vision but a blind person did it it makes you really wonder what was going through his mind!
How can this true story be anything but excellent? Peter did a great job portraying Erik. It was fantastic to watch and some what humbling.I am very sighted and would never ever climb Mt.Everest.Had I known it was based on a book I would have already read it, now a must read for me.What an inspiration Erik is to the world, blind and seeing.A great movie to watch more than once.I am always amazed at the human spirit and where it can take us.....Beautiful cinematography, not sure how much was Everest, but beautiful all the same. I can only hope all people who watch this movie see something new, something only a blind man could show them. Never let anyone tell you you can't do anything you wan to. Erik didn't seem to have to many limitations, only the ones he put on himself, which weren't enough to stop him.I loved seeing Bruce Campbell as well. He is one of my favorites.

I found this movie a pleasure. As a mom, I noticed this film was free of anything parents wouldn't want their kids to see. Most would want them to see it, because it's not only good entertainment, but inspiring to people of all ages.
As this is a true story, the message is all the more powerful. Many people lack confidence and will power, which often keeps them from setting goals and experiencing the fulfillment of achieving them. This film shows viewers what a person can do (conquer Mt. Everest) in spite of a significant disadvantage---complete blindness! And, as one might expect, the scenery is breathtaking!
Erik's autobiography is the same title as the movie, and will provide further insights about this remarkable man.

- AnecdotesOn May 25, 2001, Erik Weihenmayer became the only blind person to reach the summit of Mt. Everest. In 2008 he climbed Carstensz Pyramid on the island of Papua New Guinea, completing the Seven Summits, the highest point on every continent. This accomplishment closed the circuit on a 13-year journey that had begun with his 1995 ascent of Denali. He is joined by a select company of only 150 mountaineers to have accomplished the feat.
