Its a very good movie. I like that they showed preeetty much how it really is in hell even thoe its a christian movie and they are cinda know for that they dont show explicit stuff. The acting is very good in my eyes but if someone would say that it is some times to much or a bit centered on religon I kinda have to agree BUT its a christian movie so what do you want. It has some very intense and funny parts and thats why i personally liked it even more. A very good movie to watch with the family. Aspecially with religios parents !!! Xd
BIG TIME PROPS for holding the values of Jesus that are challenged in these days and looked at if they would be the worst eeeever.
I´m not a big time reviewer and my english is sometimes still kind poor but I could talk about this movie for a while.

10/10 - I agree with everyone.
I just watched this yesterday again :) Why on earth does this film only have a 5.8? It should have won some award. I was at my grandmothers and we all watched my DVD it 3 generations of us all watched it all loved it from my little cousin 10 - my grandparents 70s With a steady stream of laughs, masterful & quite original plot line and includes a very intriguing character ensemble. Incredible words. Incredible insight. Solving the world's problems. Just incredible. It's about Jesus in the end. Only thing that makes sense. The Genius Club is timeless, if you enjoy it the second time you will enjoy it forever. I mention second time as the humor is a fairly conservative and educated so you need to pay attention. Or you will definitely miss the hilarity of Tom Sizemore's character as it isn't directly implied like skit comedies such as Road Trip and Old School. Which are boring after 2 views.
Rating 10/10.

"A criminal threatens to destroy Washington, D.C. with a nuclear bomb unless seven people with 200+ IQs can solve all the world's problems in one night." How's that for the premise of a Christian film? It sure beats "A pop star struggles with her faith," or "A man must convince his brother-in-law of the importance of Christ in the Christmas season." A lot of people, including many Christians, dislike Christian films because:
1. They tend to be lower-budget and lower-quality, cinematically speaking, then most other films.
2. In an attempt to be "family friendly" and "wholesome," they often avoid or trivialize serious issues.
While "The Genius Club" can't overcome the first criticism, it seems as if the filmmakers recognized the second criticism, and decided to make a film that does nothing but address serious issues. Welcome to a Christian film that is not family-friendly. I can't think of a single other Christian film where characters make statements like, "Cancer hasn't been cured because that would mean the loss of millions of jobs in a booming health care industry."
"Solving the world's problems" takes the form of a debate between the seven genius characters and the villain. As time goes on, the stakes get higher, and they go from talking about things like politics and war to things like good and evil. As long as the debate is going on, which is most of the film, the dialogue is pretty well-thought-out and covers deep ground (it slacks off during the breaks, though). You might expect a character to make a statement implying that all the world's problems would be solved if everyone became Christians, but that does not happen. Instead, the film's thesis seems to be that we need to let of greed, let go of hate, and love one another. One of the seven is a seminary student and another is an atheist, and there is some debate about God, Jesus, and religion, but it is not antagonistic like in, say, "God's Not Dead," since the seven characters are seen as working together against a common adversary. Actually, the villain here is a more reasonable and rational character than the professor in "God's Not Dead."
Overall, I enjoyed "The Genius Club" as much as I enjoy movies that I would normally give an "8," but I have to give it a "7" instead, since some of the dialogue and acting was very unconvincing, especially towards the very beginning and the very end. Even so, I consider it one of the better Christian films I have seen, as it has meatier and more mature content than most others. I recommend it to people who are open- minded about Christianity and, for that matter, budgets.

Simply put, The Genius Club is a film which extends far beyond the 1.6 hours that you will spend viewing it. The characters continued to haunt me after the movie (and still do), thanks to the performances by Stephen Baldwin, Tricia Helfer and all of the supporting players. They are not merely acting, yet are transformed into the characters, leaving no trace of a line between their part and reality.
This film does talk about faith and Jesus. This subjected the film to incredible hate and vile. The ignorant never had any class to begin with unfortunately.
Of course a film is only as good as a screenplay would allow, and the story contained within is written in a way that compliments everything that is truly great about Genius Club. It's an incredible work of art that must be seen. Everyone I know loves this film.
All I can tell you now is that if you're looking for an emotionally-charged movie that will make you cry, but still filters in some very funny moments as to lighten things up every now and then, with near perfect acting, cinematography, directing, editing and a screenplay which will cause you to THINK, then watch this film
I hope a lot of people see this film because you will learn something important. You will learn why compassion is an absolute must when dealing with those who are or less intelligence. You won't glare at the next person you see muttering to themselves. And when someone you love is dealing with someone who needs Christ, you won't ask them to "pull themselves together." You will understand why they need your love -- because they are just as confused as you are. We all need a Savior: Christ the Lord.

I do not write reviews on IMDb. This movie, 'The Genius Club', has compelled me to write this and help every other person out there who's thinking whether to watch or not to watch. Here's the thing, "Close your eyes. Watch the movie." It is nothing short of fantastic. I watch it every time I'm down and it never fails to lift me up. You wanna see what's heart, what's effort, what's true genius? Watch this.
I loved this movie because it was different from the rest. Most thrillers have predictable endings but this one follows a different storyline...because true stories do that. It is a great story of these geniuses under the gun. Yes it has faith so what? Don't miss this one. It is well worth your time. Great acting by Jack Scalia (TV star of 'Wolf' back in the day) as President. It will make you laugh and cry.

'Genius Club' deserves all the superlatives you could possible use to describe it. Everything about this film is perfect, and if there's one film that literally everybody should be obliged to watch at least once in his/her lifetime, I think it ought to be this one. Sweaty, gritty, claustrophobic. A lesson in tight direction and editing, and with performances to match....
I do not often start my reviews with blunt and opinionated statements, but in this case, it's justified. "Genius Club" is righteously considered as one of the top 5 most genius movies ever made I believe. This is a classic film wherein where tension comes from personality conflict, dialogue and body language. Although it may sound ungallant, these 7 geniuses, are all right without distaff glamour. Their dramas are powerful and provocative enough to keep a viewer spellbound. Tim Chey, who is in his directorial debut, effectively modulates the drama without ever taking the camera out of the genius room until the verdict is in from the terrorist named 'Armand' I believe or 'Ormand' (?). As for the story,it was mechanically written, but within its own middlebrow limitations, it delivers the goods as it presents a powerful impact to the viewer.
Overall, this does deserve to be considered one of the finest American films of all time. It keeps the viewer riveted every step of the way.

Incredible film. The chemistry of the male and female genius lead actors in this show was incredible. The movie line done very well, as the characters were developed with tremendous care. What a couple of actors to put together, Baldwin and Paula Jai Parker. A remarkable work on the vice of intellect and pure genius. Purely and enjoyment only movie, it is one to sit back relax let it twist your mind around the plot. As we see the plot of good versus evil taking place in DC, and the avarice life of the north where the two cultures meet, in their diversity and tension grows as the night wears thin. The main role characters do well on their own - Tom Sizemore was AMAZING in this film. Quality acting, and am grateful to have watched it.

10+ Film.
Agree with everyone - ignore the critical people.... I agree that the 6.2 score is WAY too low. I agree that the haters don't appreciate a buildup of atmosphere, strong character interaction, and stories heavily centered on characters and their psychology. Genius Club has all of these traits, and proves to be a superior movie to the Sixth Sense in my opinion. Too bad it's so underrated.
In others words, the film is too smart for the overpopulated masses who reject God.
I've seen this movie several times, and I have never even gotten tired of it. It does deal with intelligent topics, but approaches it with a level of sophistication and intellect never found before in thriller movies.
The movie walks a very fine line between reality and the outside world, at the same time walking a very fine line in terms of audience perception. Some chalk it up to be a silly pontificating movie, others a brilliant enlightening movie. It's more of a drama, just like the 12 Angry Men was more of a drama than a horror movie. Both are excellent dramas, but Genius Club was superior in every aspect.
The Genius Club had so many twists and turns - it's a million times more intelligent than any runner-up.

This has to have been the most poorly acted, poorly constructed movies I have seen in my life, HOWEVER.. I was so absorbed by how bad this movie was, that I've now just watched it a second time for laughs. The script is atrocious, basically written for children ( even that's insulting this latest generation), or people who have never seen a movie before.
I did enjoy the questions, although they weren't radical or revolutionary, and for the uninitiated, I'm glad you've had the chance to have been asked these *new* questions.
If you find the questions new and interesting, you should start taking a closer look into politics, and world events.
There are no spoilers in here, except for those who were expecting a good film. But if you are intelligent, and like a drink or two with your mates, put it on and have a jolly good belly laugh!
6/10 for tragic.

I cried the whole time, the movie made me look at myself. I loved how they used very different people from different cultures and the acting was stupendous! Its a great movie for everyone to see though it does have some violence and language but they don't exactly spell it out. I liked the drama it made the movie so realistic and also repeatable. The ending it's self was so sad it made me cry. It lists things that people today don't even come to think that these things a problem. It tests everyone. Who Am I? What Is the meaning of life. Why is everything happening? I choose this movie to be 10 out of 10 stars because of the reality relativity drama action and It's a great Christian movie. So guys go watch the movie!

This film has withstood the test of time and is an incredible and jaw-dropping movie with twists and turns and ultimately FAITH wrapped up incredibly.
I won't give away the ending, but it's extremely powerful.
Ignore the jealous haters. They bash all Christian movies and have an agenda. Watch the film for yourself and decide. The director went to Harvard and is a lawyer on top of being a filmmaker. His body of work stands for itself.
What I love about 'The Genius Club' is how these very brainy geniuses turn out to have a heart. It's not an academic film at all in the end, but one of finding the answers to the world's problems.
This is one of the important films in cinema history that again is only ignored because of it discusses GOD in a rational and apologetic way.
My Rating: 10/10.

In my opinion, the genius club is the greatest film that has ever been created. A perfect example of less is more, the simplicity of the plot, the setting of the one room, and the acting talent of the 7 main cast members is enough to conquer the dramatic genre, and ensure that it remains a timeless classic.
Whether you are a fan of the older generation of filmmaking or not, I implore you to experience this acting masterclass for yourself. More current movies such as the room, which is superb in itself, have borrowed elements from genius club but trust me when I say there is nothing quite like this beautifully crafted drama. Watch it.

The only thing I can write as an average Joe who watches movies simply to be entertained or see a story being told, is that I watched 8 people argue in a room for more than an hour and I couldn't look away from the screen. Simply a masterpiece!
This film is superb, in fact as Shakespeare once said "Its the bees' knees". The film captivates the audience from the beginning. Each of the geniuses are introduced to us as they are introduced to themselves. The characters are well draw out and individual, each with his own personality.
The President is amazing played by the actor Jack Scalia who I've not seen in years. Wonderful actor.
The tension of the characters draws the audience in from the start and keeps going.

First I'll throw in my two cents on an issue I wish I didn't have to comment on. This is a remarkable film for no other reason that it evokes passion. The critics who dislike the film continue to bash only the religious implications. But this is disingenuous. Surely, a film can stand on its merits regardless of whether one believes in God or not.
Movies that toyed with similar themes, like "12 Angry Men" or "Beautiful Mind," though great films, do not come close to packing the emotional wallop this film delivers. I dare anyone to tell me they didn't get teared up as the movie progressed and the characters reveal their own tragedies.
Of course as a realist drama, the performances in the film are crucial. Scalia is outstanding, as one would expect, but so is Tom Sizemore and the rest of the cast. Part of this must be due to the filmmakers, as Scalia, for example, doesn't come across nearly as well to me in some of his other films.
If The Genius Club has a flaw, it's that its relatively short (compared to the material available) running time makes for some unexplained or shallow turnabouts of character in the complex of good/evil interplay. The casino owner seems particularly distant to the viewer, for example, which is appropriate to the final state of her character, but which could have been explained better in transformation. But how wonderful is it to have a casino owner - the ingenuity of bringing the most shallow world and mixing it in with real religion is nothing short of imaginative audacity.
Finally note the contrast between the restrained closing scene (which is also the climax) and the melodramatic style of the almost everything that has preceded it in the film.
This is a fabulous, heartrending film, with grand, biblical and universal subtexts and an unusually developed but extremely charming romance. Unless you're completely averse to realist drama, you must see 'Genius Club' at least once.

At the heart of a one-night terrorist event, this cinematic work offers a splendid panorama of human nature, and is an incredible plea for human rights and finding a Savior: Christ the Lord. In an age when we are all too often tempted by the easy way out and popular judgment, this movie provides a deep perspective that is more topical than ever, reminding us of the foundations of "Who Am I?" You learn this in a first-year university that sadly very few are able to attend. In addition, the prejudices and cultural differences of opinion intrinsic to a shared society are highlighted, which can undermine the neutrality of judgment. Illustrated in the extreme setting of a terrorist threat (played magnificently by Tom Sizemore) in which a nuclear attack is at stake, the director seems to be leading the spectator to generalize this approach to behavior in society. A cherished work of art.
I remember watching this indie film in the theaters in Dallas, Texas a while ago and everyone in my group LOVED the film. Extremely captivating and still holds up with time.
It's simply an incredible movie and maybe the most underrated independent film of our generation.
When you watch it again, it's astoundingly accurate and predicts so much that is happening right now.

there are certain movies over the past decades that achieve a sort of raw emotion inside of us that can't be captured on purpose. this is a movie that is so simple, yet so unbelievably poetic that it is hard to to believe any Hollywood studio made it. i saw this movie the first time at the theater last year, and I never forgot how moved it made me feel.
the end of the movie is so unbelievably powerful that when stephen baldwin finally reveals his past, it feels like you have discovered the answers to the world's problems, our soulless humanity in search of God and ultimate meaning. i don't know of too many movies that can claim that. i read some cynical film critic's review and you know he's the type who would complain that mona lisa's nose is too small or picasso really wasn't all that. this is a movie that will never loses its power, even 20 years from now.
