Avis à la une
As much it's adorable to see foxes and dogs get along for a change, watching this movie feels almost the complete opposite. The Fox and the Hound 2 is just another pointless sequel that's just for the sake of cashing out the original. Despite how the animation does a good job like how the late straight-to-video Disney sequels would have, the writing for this is a mess. The story is so uninspiring that it doesn't give this any form of motivation as a followup. All we've seen is a boring plot line of Copper abandoning Tod to play the howling band of dogs. The new characters we gotten are pretty unlikable from an ego lead singer who cares about being a star. The voice acting is just hillbilly acting rather than being fateful to the ones from before. And the musical numbers are all unappealing. The original film wasn't meant to be a musical, it only had two songs and they fit nicely to the film. This one is filled with tedious country songs that are pointless and has no actual supportive ones to the plot whatsoever. As Disney sequels usually go, I recommend to skip this one and stick with the original. Even for dog lovers, they would appreciate the original much more than this. This is the kind of talent fair show that's anything but.
As far as my experience with certain Disney sequels I was prepared for either success or failure. I got somewhere in the middle, the animation was lively and the acting good, but in the spirit of the original I didn't think it was quite there. The story failed to elaborate in relation to the original, unlike Bambi II which pulled it with surprising success. Having watched Bambi II I was very much expecting to see something of the same caliber, but this fell a little short. Too many new characters were introduced and several of the old characters didn't even merit a cameo appearance which was a little disappointing.
However, the movie still had it's fair share of cute moments to make you giggle, which was one of it's saving graces. The animation is at a great standard and no obvious flaws to spot and was casted reasonably well. I was concerned when the cover said "The music of today's hottest stars is centre stage" which sounded like a poor effort to grab the attention of any mainstream dolt, but the soundtrack wasn't too bad and had me tapping my toes in a few places.
From the point of view of a Disney cartoon it was a little under powered but it's still got some good laughs and pleasant moments, but don't go expecting the repeat success of the original.

Another disposable disney direct to home media midquel that still has the nerve to put a 2 on there.
It didn't leave a bad taste in my mouth, it's just tepid at best with a plot taken from a hundred episodes of kids TV where one character gets in with one crowd and semi-abandons a friend with only the music to really recommend.
I don't care how much of a fan you or your kids are, this is one to skip.

The original Fox and the Hound is a very charming and underrated film. The sequel/midquel had some cute moments and was average at best, but I did feel it lacked the charm of the predecessor, and it is and I quote "an inferior sequel". I will admit though that the animation is very very good, and the soundtrack decent and catchy. I also cannot deny that the voice acting was excellent, the standout easily being the late Patrick Swayze(may he rest in peace) as Cash. I liked the additional characters, and Todd is still really cute. However, the story is very weak, unfocused and predictable. The original's story focused on the friendship of Todd and Copper, and it was this that made the original so charming. Here, it was a nice idea, but there are a number of predictable moments and there was a lot of very little happening rather than focusing on the friendship. I don't think it helped that the writing was nothing to write home about. I also didn't like Copper in this, he wasn't much of a friend to Todd, and seemed selfish too. And where were Big Mama, Boomer and Dinky? I am probably one of the few people who really liked them in the original, and although the original voice actors have passed over since, they could have provided the humour with new voice actors. Plus the film is much too short. Because of these reasons, despite the redeeming qualities it definitely has, it was devoid of humour and most of the time charm. 5/10 for the animation, music and voice cast. Bethany Cox
This movie was surprisingly nice and heart-warming! At first I wasn't sure on the idea of watching a sequel but it turned out to be great! Plot line - Copper and Todd are still best friends and are always getting into mischief but it seems as if Copper is no good at anything -especially hunting! His luck quickly changes when he joins a band with the singing stays! Unfortunately Copper soon seems to have no time for Todd and it strongly affects there friendship.
This film was excellent in every way and most of the characters had a good sense of humour! The songs such as Friends For Life , blue beyond hound dude and We're In Harmony were very well done! (Hound dude was my favourite!) Even though this film is new the characters seemed to have there same voices just as they did in the old film! The animation was wonderful and just as before the film has all your favourite characters . E.G. Chief! The only thing I did notice about this film is that Big Momma (mummy!)wasn't in it but that really doesn't bother me! I recommend this film to everyone who likes the fox and the hound! They are both brilliant!

- AnecdotesIt was the final film to use the opening "Walt Disney Pictures Presents" logo with a fantasy castle in the blue background after twenty-one years.
- GaffesThere is no feasible point during the first movie where this one could have taken place. In that film, Copper goes on the hunting trip right after Tod's first encounter with Amos and Chief, and they don't come back until the two of them are already adults.
