Moussaka & Chips

Veteran comedy stars Ron Moody and Mike Reid are in very fine form here, a bumbling office functionary with the espionage organization MI7. Charlotte Green becomes the unlikely hero who must take on a wily Mike Reids Shalom Godsall chacter. But she won't have to go it alone: her sidekick Miles that she's supposed to be protecting on the Island of Zante. Godsall has sent two of his minions a father and son team Danny and Jay to find and take out Miles, but naturally they're not going to stop there; Godsall has a loftier ambition in mind.

"Moussaka & Chips" is a fast-paced, engagingly silly James Bond spoof. It's not always that inspired, as it goes for cheap and easy laughs. That said, it's generally good entertainment for a family audience, with some good sight gags and verbal jokes. It travels far on the winning goofiness of Helena Roman and two minions Danny and Jay played by Danny Ogle and Jason Gerard, who react to her misfortunes with great deadpan humour. But the whole cast is a delight: Mike Reid is a hilariously pompous villain, Moody adds his own substantial amount of comedy relief, and Miles is great as a witness hiding out. Particularly priceless is the way the two minions behave when they thinks nobody is watching. "Does Your Mother Know?"

"Moussaka & Chips" is must viewing and a worthy successor to such dense but dedicated characters as Inspector Clouseau and Frank Drebin (to name just two).

This is one of those movies that i loved when I first saw it online. So I really didn't know what to think as i watched it again, but to my surprise it is still charming, funny and sweet.

Enter Danny as the last family guy, just wanting to spend time with son and takes on a job that he hasnt really though through, from Shalom Godsall (Comedian Mike Reid). Then ensues a hilarious journey from Derry to Greece to track down a witness in protective custody.

You may think, that shouldn't be a problem, but it is. This is one vacation you will never forget. I have always liked Mike Reid and Ron Moody and if you watch this movie you will know why.

The sweet caring family man Danny losing more and more of his mind is nothing less than funny as hell.

Inept getaway driver and incompetent MI5 agent fall for each other whilst pursued by even more incompetent Irish hitmen whilst hiding out on a Greek Island.

If the story sounds a little derivative it's because that's what the RomCom format calls for! What makes or breaks a film like this are how the characters are drawn and whether you believe their incompetence which makes the humorous scrapes that they get into funny or just effected.

Thankfully, the film holds up very well, with some lovely individual performances and set pieces - the highlight being the sheer grumpiness of the hotel receptionist (actually played by one of the writers) whose disdain for the hotel's guests seems to know no limits!

Mike Reid puts in one of his final performances as a very effective Laaaaandan mob boss. And, the answer to the trivia question "what was the final film of The Artful Dodger from Oliver Twist?" is this one...

A nice little "date night" film, especially in the middle of a cold winter when you can do with a little Greek sunshine in your life.

London Gang number 2, Shalom Godsall (Mike Reid) has already been thwarted by his boss when he set up an informant. However he's hoping the same trick is second time lucky when he puts Miles (Miles Petit) in the frame as the new informant and has been helping CIA work against British Authorities run by (Ron Moody). The CIA have hidden Miles in Grease with Charlotte Green (Helena Roman) in hopes he'll make it to trial.

Unfortunately Charlotte is not a top secret agent. The original woman of mystery !

Fun and entertaining spy movie in the mould of the 007 series but with patently ridiculous screenplay , adding pop imagery , and hilarious and ironical touches . This psychodelic and pop delight packs thrills , noisy action , explosions , beautiful women and spectacular scenes . This feels like more a spoof movie more than an ordinary Spy film . The plot strains for effect, Ron Moody and Mike Reid do their best with what they are given, but Helena Roman is the standout as a sympathetic acting as the tough agent assigned to save Miles from an evil gang.

It contains a colorful cinematography very in the Sixtes wake. As well as moving and thrilling musical score.
