Avis à la une
I had little respect for Sanjay Gadhvi after his futile attempt of making Bollywood version of highly adorable My Best Friends Wedding. But with Dhoom - he back on track. Its interesting to see Yashraj into Action-Thrillers who generally stick to love themes, proving they are developing into professional production houses.
A good storyline filled with witty one-liners, good comic scenes, great songs, plenty of flesh and of course great action sequences - a perfect recipe for a masala Bollywood action. The pace of the movie is so good that you don't want to leave your seat.
Abshishek's performance is good - within the boundaries of his can's and cannot's. Uday Chopra overacts. John Abraham fits the role to the "T". Heroines have small roles but oozing with sex-appeal (the action theme demands it - remember?). Abhishek-Uday combo is similar to 48 Hours and evokes good mirth.
An entertaining fare from start to finish. Go watch it!!!

Obviously copied of biker boys and some other movies but it's a really good film. All 3 lead males did very well in there respected roles. Dhoom is the best movie in the franchise way better then 2 and 3. Even though the sequels made alot more money at the box office but it looks like yash raj dont know how to take the franchise forward in the right way. This was the only time all songs and the theme were really good. Dhoom has a perfect balance from beginning to end. It doesn't slow down anywhere so the editor was really good at his job. I wouldn't say you will get the feeling of watching some Hollywood movie with action scenes but you are guaranteed the 2 plus hours of pure entertainment. I would really reccomend this movie to anyone who hasn't seen it at the same time I'd say avoid the 2 sequels.
A very enjoyable movie with thrills and fun. I'm not a huge fan of the cast other than John but strangely even he was at times expressionless in this movie. On the other hand, Uday (who's also not my fav actor) was the best of all. The plot was interesting and I liked it that the main character was always a step ahead of the second main character. Looking forward to watching part 2.
"Dhoom" comes from a time where new wave of western influences was sweeping over Bollywood, so "Dhoom" tries to be an Indian version of some cult action movies from that time. However, instead of completely copying them, there is, naturally, a lot of singing and dancing, over the top action scenes and story pieces that are so unbelievable that you could give the job of scenario writing to a kid and get something similar. Despite all that, "Dhoom" has that same power that almost all or all Indian movies have. It's so bad it's good! It's a fun experience for a relaxing and enjoyable time with friends or family where you can together keep facepalming and watching in disbelief what absurdity will the Indian filmmakers do next. 7/10! Recommended for some mindless fun!
This is the first Bollywood action movie I have seen. It was outrageous! It reminded me of the first Fast and the Furious and The Transporter, which is probably the best you could hope for in a Bollywood action movie. There was also a fight scene on top of the trailer of an 18-wheeler extremely reminiscent of The Matrix Reloaded, which is not a good thing considering this movie is not set in a virtual reality. But its all in good fun. With hot actors, great music, and lots of comedy mixed in, this is great for the not-so-serious moviegoer.

- AnecdotesThe bikes used in the film are the Suzuki Hayabusa (1300cc), the Suzuki GSX-R600 (600cc) and the Suzuki Bandit (1200cc).
- GaffesIn the rain song, when Uday Chopra gets out of the car, Abhishek is in the driver's seat. Later on during the song, a shot shows Abhishek in the seat occupied by Uday. And the car is now a Scorpio.
- Crédits fousThe 'yash raj films' logo has the sound of vrooming bikes instead of the original musical theme.
