Acting, sound, dialogue, lighting, budget. Yeah. That's what movies are made of. The only redeeming quality may be that most of the men are attractive.
To be honest I skipped over all the 'couples' except the relationships involving: David, Jake and Chance (&Ryan).. Why? They presented the vagaries of gay relationships! in full color and why it is extremely hard for a young gay couple to stay true to each other! I am gay and (fortunately) in a relationship 42 years and still going strong and can relate to its problems. I like to call the 'problem' "raging hormones mixed with an oversized ego!" Now that gay marriage is a fact, check out the number of gay celebs. who are divorcing just after a short (some cases brief!) marriage and soon getting engaged to another Teink and doing the PDA thing! With this in mind, it was perfectly explored in their relationship! However I fault the denouement in that it shifted gears too quickly and made the relationship between Jake and Chance as almost a 'one night stand!'
My partner and i really enjoyed the show. I'm saddened to only see two seasons but hopefully they will return for more. Considering budget for the cable network they aired on, I thought they did a tremendous job. There is a lot of ups and downs with show, one minute you will laughing and the next I was pulling a tear. I think we need to embrace the hard work that goes into these series and be thankful that we still have gay filmmakers to bring us new content. My hats off to cast and crew, I have heard of some of the challenges getting the show made and I applaud you! Bravo!
I just started watching this series and I like it alot. Very entertaining and amusing. I love how it explores the intimacy of gay men and the struggles. Gives a somewhat real view of their experience.
I hope they start a NEW series of beautiful gay men and their lives as well as including maybe a elderly gay couple to inspire that gays CAN have long loving relationships.
I encourage people to see the seasons and give it a chance and realize that in the end, love wins.
I only wish the series went beyond the 2 series as it should have gone to 10 seasons. A good series and it is worth the watch!

Hey guys! Let's make a series! How hard could it be?
Okay, full disclosure. I only watched the first episode. But even that was a struggle.
When it's a gay-themed production, I'll put up with a lot of amateurism if the story is good and the dialog is sharp. And I realize a series' first episode will mostly--and necessarily--be an introduction to the cast of characters and the story. But with this, the result for me was a swift realization that I don't want to know any more about these pretend people or their pretend problems. If I'm going to watch something like this, it has to have some truth to it at some level. Trust me, there is none to be found.
If you do not cringe at the performances or the dialog or the direction, well, bless your heart. And if you can refrain from judging a certain pair of eyebrows, well, you're a saint.
Think of HBO's series Looking. Then imagine an imitation version as bad as it could possibly be. Voilà.
