Green Arrow Fan Film

OK, even excellent for a bunch of fans, however it doesn't portray the Green Arrow as he is - i.e. a crime fighter using non lethal ways to detain. How many guys get plugged by arrows here in just this little trailer? The majority of the trailer is him drawing arrows and the resultant impact into some fleeing henchman. Green Arrow used predominantly non-lethal modes of detainment, rather like Spiderman - i.e. the ridiculous boxing glove arrow lampooned in the Green Arrow 'Quiver', etc...

The one kill he did score pushed him towards the edge resulting in his decision to succumb to death rather than lose his arm and have Superman save him.

So disappointingly this doesn't capture the Green Arrow at all.

I've always said that Green Arrow would be a great hero to make into a movie, and the makers of this short are definitely on the right track. However, like my heading says, I have mixed feelings about it. This is certainly much better than the fan made Wonder Woman movie (which just has her beating up a group of thugs in a parking garage, even though her look is perfect), but it doesn't measure up to the excellent "Grayson" or "World's Finest". That may be comparing apples to oranges, but let me explain.

This movie is certainly heavy on atmosphere and style, the use of the color green accented throughout very well. This dark style is just what I would imagine in a GA movie. And the outfit for the emerald archer is dead on (I was glad they went with the hooded cloak style- more menacing and mysterious- rather than the 'Robin Hood' pointy hat look). So the style was great, as were the speeding arrow action scenes. The negative aspects are just nit-picky more than anything. I would have liked to have seen more of GA's alter ego, Oliver Queen. I realize this is only supposed to be a trailer and they want to keep GA in shadow for a more dynamic effect, but some scenes of his regular life with dialogue would have been nice as well. And the opposite can be said for Dinah Lance (who is seen as herself, but not as Black Canary).

Overall, though, the film does convey a good sense of intrigue, interest, and suspense. I just wish it would have had a little more. But, hey, judge for yourself. If you haven't seen it, I recommend any comics or superhero movie fan check this out.

A pretty well-made fan film, I think. Excellent atmosphere, and spot-on music (though not as action-y as I like my superhero scores to be, but that's just my personal preference). At any rate, it's nice to see the World's Greatest Archer get some fan attention, even if it's just a fan film.

My biggest complaint is that it's not the Ollie I love from the comics. No one-liners, no social commentary, not even a creative trick shot of any kind that shows off his skill. Green Arrow just wouldn't be Green Arrow without his sense of humor--he'd be Batman. There's also the fact that in this fan film, he essentially gets a "wanton killer" vibe, which Ollie certainly is not.

Regardless of my complaints, I still recommend the film as worth watching. Definitely a high quality film worth seeing, if only to see the Man in Green in action.

my favorite superhero is Green Arrow, so I know I really should love a Green Arrow film. But I didn't. I would've enjoyed it if it didn't just focus on him killing everyone. They should've shown him SAVING people, or at least show his face. I don't even think the guy had Ollie's beard or mask. If you're really curious, check it out. It's not amazing. Day light would've been nice too. And Ollie didn't say a word. Not one word. The crooked cops were the only ones to speak. What is going on? Does anyone know how to make a good superhero movie?

This is a major disappointment after viewing the film with high expectations.

I really feel like a lot more could've done though, but there were some good aspects of the film. For example: The arrow-cam. You'll know what i mean when you see it, if you decide to at all.
