Avis à la une
All in all, this movie exceeded my expectations. Urnkis is an amazing up and coming director who has successfully made a wonderful film on a shoe string budget. This film looked excellent in the trailer and was even better at full length. At times the movie seemed to drag a little, but these were important moments where we were learning about the main characters. The action in this film is outstanding. It's really violent and chaotic but doesn't last very long. The sledgehammer fight was especially memorable. I thought the main character Trent performed by Stephen Cinabro was especially compelling. The grittiness of the film is wonderful. I especially loved the beautiful array of colors which definitely separates it from the low budget look. I even loved the posters. This is a film I would love to see again just because of the great ending and the character Pope who really steals the movie.
Pros: Great look, interesting characters, wonderful score, and amazing ending.
Cons: Drags at times, some acting not very good.
Still I highly recommend this film. It's really great and if you look at it from the view point of how little money was put into it, you'll be amazed.

The comment you'll hear, in the lobby, post movie, is, "I can't believe it was made for so little money!" The thoughts, during the movie, likely follow sad character to sadder character, as the movie explores people who are not necessarily villains or heroes, but gray shades moving in a black purgatory. It's film noir it's a lost side-alley from Sin City it's a forgotten road in Gotham it's bullets and empty booze bottles and a sledge hammer pulping flesh and there is where the audience thoughts likely ride, forgetting that they are watching a low budget flick, when the film is rolling.
See the film. It's a pleasant, gritty surprise.

This is my kind of flick! The movie is dark and focuses on the lonely but extremely tough ex-con Trent. This is the kinda guy you don't wanna mess with. He's quiet, the kinda quiet you used to see in the old Clint Eastwood spagehtti westerns, where the less he said the more of a badass you knew he was. And Trent definitely comes across as that kinda guy. When he speaks it's cause he has something worth saying. And boy when he does get back cause it's a whopper! He helps this women even though she doesn't really deserve it, but you know this guy just needs to help her. And in the end, when it all comes to a thrilling climax, I knew what was going to happen, and then I didn't. Just like that. I was totally into this movie. It has a lot of great moments and I was really drawn in. It's an independent film that's totally worth seeing. It surprised me. Big time!!!!
I think it's just one of those things where people want to be the first to discover the next big thing in films. And I'm happy to say I think I've found it. Black Days is a great film noir dark action drama about an ex-con who agrees to help a prostitute get away from her pimp. It's amazing the quality in this film for such a small amount of money. I didn't know how much the movie was made for when I first saw it and quite honestly I never would have guessed it was that low. In fact I still don't believe it. The thing that draws me to the film is it's violent content and dark undertones. People should see this movie just for the characters Pope and Sophie. Totally awesome. People have already started comparing the director Michael Urnkis to such directors as Michael Mann. He also wrote the film. This movie, how it was made, and it's great cult like feel is going to be a big hit once it hits festivals.

- AnecdotesThe longest day of shooting was 20 hours.
- GaffesDuring the bar scene with Pope and Trent a boom mic dips into the scene for a brief few seconds. The scene, which is eight pages of dialog, was shot all the way through two times from two different angels because their wasn't enough time to do anything else. The sound mixer was made to hold the boom for such a long period of time he wasn't able to keep the mike out of the shot.
