Two girls named Ami and Yumi that play in a band the bad Points are that Kass can be unlikable and greedy just like Mr Krabs from Spongebob Squarepants and some bad episodes like Julie amiyumi. But the theme song is catchy and not bad this is one of the best Cartoon Network shows from 2004 along with Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends.

I can't believe that people hate this show, because of it's animation and the fact that two girls star in it. I can just say that anybody who hates this show has no taste for cartoons. I like at this show the fact that it parodied older cartoons, like Tom & Jerry, The Adams family, the Flinstones and more. None of the present shows that are on Cartoon network even mentions these. I love that this show didn't had any real violence, like shooting. Moast of the shows that are now on cartoon network can't make even one (stinking) episode without shooting (Robotboy) or explosions or things that aren't even possible (Chowder) . The characters are great, Ami and Yumi are best friends and every time they are angry at each they other soon apologize to each other and forget what happened. Kaz is really greedy, but he's also a very funny character and also their cats Jang Keng and Tekirai are great characters. When they make fun of Kaz they do similar things jerry did to Tom. Sadly because of the management change in 2006 Puffy got canceled, 5 episodes were never aired. It is really stupid that because of this all the good shows got canceled. Puffy got probably canceled, because the main characters were girls. I think this because all the other shows that stared girls got canceled shortly after puffy. At least this show made 117 7 minute episodes before it got canceled and I love to watch every episode. Sadly like the older cartoons it's gone and it's unknown if it will appear on TV ever again :(.
Overall, I give HI HI Puffy AmiYumi a thumbs up! Sure, it is not the most memorable show to come out of Cartoon Network, but it certainly has its great moments. The characters are generally great, even Kaz. And he is the greedy one. However as the later seasons progressed, you realize that he sees Ami & Yumi as family. The other great thing about this show is that, well, it's funny! It's a gag based cartoon, and most of the gags in the show give me the giggles. Sure there are a few duds like the episode "Treasure Map" (my least favorite episode of the series.... >:/) but it does have some genuinely funny moments. Sure they slip some pop culture references here and there, but it doesn't RELY on references. Overall, good show, I recommend. Nice Job, Puffy AmiYumi! C=
I kinda loved this show when I was a kid. It was cute, funny, creative, and beautiful. This was one of my favorite Cartoon Network shows during my childhood, next to Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and Dexter's Laboratory. I was so sad that Sam Register, the creator of this show, left Cartoon Network in 2006, but let's hope he's happier at Warner Bros. Animation. I'm really gonna miss watching this show on TV, though I am more than happy to see it online. Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi was a great cartoon, and is why I am now a fan of Puffy AmiYumi. One of my favorite shows from 2004, and mostly the 2000s. Yes, I am more of a 2000s kid, but there are some shows from that era that I hated. Sorry for not telling you, but... Eh. I love Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi.
I was rather surprised when I found out the two women who sung for Teen Titains were getting their own cartoon show as well. Granted like most folks in the U.S, I've never heard of this band since its from out of country (the closest I've ever heard of J-Pop would be the Dance Dance Revolution machines). So I found it interesting as the show premiere came close (Checking it out at my Lowes movie theater helped as well).
Premise: Basiclly just a bunch of misadventures of the band's three member trio: the title characters Ami and Yumi (which from what I read in interviews, are based off the real life duo's more shining characteristics) and their tightwad money hungry manger, Caz, as they travel the road on their concert tour.
Its a cute show really with simple premises, situations and solutions all with a dose of the girl's music thrown in. However since the format for this show is short, most of the episodes end pretty corny and doesn't really give the stories a chance to flesh out more. Not to mention that you can see most of the resolutions coming a mile away. Still the character's personalities shine through and make the show worth watching as they stumble in and out of problems.
Art wise, very nice style. The creators or Puffy must of been fans of the game Parapper or Um Jammer Lammy cause the show reminds me of those video games and the art is very reminiscent. For those that haven't played those game, the style is simple line art, very abstract and colorful. Especially for a flash cartoon (2-D animation done mostly on computer). So good job here from the folks of Renegade.
As well as the sound section. As mentioned, the tunes are of course Puffy Ami Yumi songs with some usual cartoon play back. And the voice actors (which you may recognize as the main voices from Grim Adventures and Teenage Robot) do a nice job voicing the girls while mixing in some Japanese language (mainly when the two characters express surprise, get shocked or angry) and I love the dude who does Caz voice, the only one who seems to have an accent here.
And lets not forget the opening and closing segments with the real life Ami and Yumi. Though I think this is mostly from their show in Tokyo then down here. Still its cute and they don't take to long to lead in the cartoons.
Overall, a simple cartoon kids and teens might love, the older crowd might give a glance at. Would've been better if they can flesh out the problems more and use it as an opportunity for more humor. But they do well with the time they have. I don't know if the band will hit it off down, but anything possible and I wish all the luck for Puffy AmiYumi. Keep rocking girls!

- AnecdotesAmi, Yumi, and Kaz speak in Japanese when they are upset, injured, or being shocked. Ami and Kaz's voice actors are Japanese. Yumi's voice actress learned how to speak some of the language in the series thanks to a language coach. This is also evident in the episode of The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy titled "My Peeps." Keone Young spoke fluent Japanese and Janice Kawaye spoke some Japanese.
