    Goodbye Triggerstreet

The site that only helped themselves I finally done for! Go to you-tube. You get paid and you get more exposure. Triggerstreet's sole purpose was to generate enough money for DB to become a Producer, and it worked. So Long And Farewell Lucky to last even this long. Buckfumblers and Film Terrorist of the world will be throwing a party. So, do we really have to write 10 lines of text? I can go on and on about how bad this site was. How the moderators and creators were the beginning of the end. Lack of creativity and blah blah blah. I wonder why their sponsor, Budweiser, never did a audit of their traffic that was obviously "adjusted" to make it appear more users visited the site than they did.

    The Basement

The film industry operates in a interdependent network of skilled artists and craftsmen. In order to piece together a project the talents of proved professionals are collected and directed to a designed end.

Being outside that network, being outside the environs of Hollywood one can only look to the finished results and not partake in their creation.

That is until Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti sent an elevator down to the rest of us. A site dedicated to giving exposure to writers and filmmakers. Triggerstreet provides education, edification, exposure and a community of peers to provide an experience and opportunity to climb aboard.

For one, I am immensely grateful.

A Movie Site for the General Public

Triggerstreet.com offers the general public free admission to their short film and screenplay forum site, that is, an opportunity to submit their short films and screenplays for review and comment. The site has a Hall of Justice to handle complaints about reviews, screenplays, and film (but for the latter two, excluding content issues), and message boards for discussions among members. Because it is open to the general public, the level of knowledge about movies, screen writing and film-making is not very high, therefore, feedback comments tend toward the general in constructiveness, and can be totally worthless at times. Message board discussions also demonstrate how this site has lured in people who dream of fame and fortune as screenwriters or filmmakers but who know little about the craft, or even the basics of narrative structure. ScriptShark now picks the top screenplay of the month from the top three voted by the membership. There are contests for short films, and the site supports films with arrangements with various film festivals to show winners' films. It's a great site for trolling, a great site to just have fun, but I have often wondered, because of the general public aspect, just how effective it is in finding fresh real talent and scripts to produce. There may be fresh talent hidden in the general public but just from some of the mediocre reviews I've read on the site, I wonder if this site is where it would want to be. Although their customer service skills in dealing with membership are somewhat lacking, they make it easy to participate at the site in whatever way a member chooses. For more serious writers or filmmakers, have fun at Triggerstreet.com, but don't expect too much. Perhaps in the future, this site will have found a way to upgrade their offerings to provide a more worthwhile experience for experienced writers and filmmakers rather than the general public, and also perhaps offer an online mentoring opportunity for especially promising members. A solid beginning for Trigger Street Productions' presence online.

    Triggerstreet.com -- disappointed

Triggerstreet.com is supposed to be a "community" but unfortunately it seems to behave more like a gated community. Several members have been banned from the site simply because they have expressed viewpoints different from those of the site co-founder (Dana Brunetti) or his henchmen (i.e., the moderators of the message boards). Triggerstreet would do itself a favor by getting rid of the message boards ... they are dominated by site regulars, including the so-called "moderators" who seem to be anything but moderate. Brunetti lashes a sharp tongue at anyone who dares to differ with his extremist point of view ... and then he bans any member who dares talk back against his verbal assaults. Well it is his site ... so I guess he can do whatever he wants ... hey, I seem to recall that same attitude amongst spoiled brats in grade school ("It's my ball and I'll take it with me if you don't play the way I want to you to play.") No please stop with the stupid antics Dana ... it only shows your pettiness. Allow others to have a differing opinion without banning them from your site.
