Fat Guy In a Tutu. Check.

Bud Jamison thinks his wife, Mildred June, is having an affair with Charles Puffy, the assistant at the dancing studio run by Billy Engle. In order to escape the vengeful husband, Puffy hikes up his trouser legs, dons a tutu and tries to make a break for it. Hilarity, alas, does not ensue.

No one gets to do much in the way of good comedy here, barring one gag in which Puffy jumps and everything in the studio jumps for the shock waves. This goes on far too long with little variation. I blame director Zion Myers, a member of the Myers-White clan which produced actress Carmel Myers and Jules White. When White was at MGM in the early 1930s, helping wreck Buster Keaton's career and working on the hideous Dogville series, Myers was listed as his co-producer or co-director as the case might be.

Puffy was an interesting actor, the first Hungarian actor to attain worldwide fame. This brought him to Hollywood, where he was stuck in awful short comedies like this. When sound came in, he went to Germany -- you can spot him in a sizable role in THE BLUE ANGEL. Eventually he was put in Auschwitz, where he died in 1942,
