Although I myself am way over the age of 3, with no children of my own, I feel that Peep and the Big Wide World is classic children's educational television. The lessons are intelligently woven into light-hearted comedic situations featuring Peep, Quack, and Chirp. The characters themselves are absolutely adorable and get into all sorts of trouble exploring the world around them. Quack is the quirky smart-alec, Peep is the "middle bird", and Chirp is the energetic, sometimes a little wild bird. Children and adults in general will all enjoy this show and perhaps may find themselves in characters in the "big wide world".
Of the little TV I'll indulge my daughter in, this is probably our favourite. In fact, if I turn the TV on, she often asks for this show specifically.
My daughter is three and there is no shortage of crap television aimed at teaching her morality and safe play and etc etc (yawn.) Note to children's programmers: Don't teach my kids this stuff. That's my job. Your job is to entertain us.
And Peep does just that. Like a young child Peep is naive and every show is about her finding something banal (like snow or sand) for the very first time and showing us all how fascinating it can be.
What more can I ask for my three year old? This show is AWESOME.

Nothing is better than a duck! Nothing is smarter than a duck! WE LOVE QUACK! My two-year old and I love to watch Peep and the Big Wide world. It's actually on as I'm writing this. The animation is simple and adorable. And who has ever seen a blue (purple) duck like Quack before? He is hilarious. Joan Cusack is the best narrator possible for this show. I love her anyways, but to have her humorous voice in a child's show has made my month! IT'S GREAT! We wish the videos were available to purchase in the UK, though, so we can watch whenever we feel like it...Three times a day just isn't enough some days. Besides, my husband still hasn't seen it yet because of work and I keep telling him about it.
PEEP AND THE BIG WIDE WORLD is fun and stimulating for children and adults alike. Watch the crazy antics of this trio and you're sure to have a laugh with your child.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR ANY TODDLER, YOUNG CHILD, OR GENERAL CARTOON LOVER!!

The funniest, smartest & cutest kid's show to come along in a LONG time!!!! A wonderful way to show science to the little ones that is totally entertaining and never complicated.
Quack is my favorite, with his "duck wisdom" sayings. He's funny, sometimes stubborn, but always his heart is in the right place. Chirp is smart and is the balance to Quack, but Chirp doesn't know it all yet and that leads to fun discoveries with Peep. Peep is the wide eyed-innocent, newly hatched chick and is sweet, but isn't sickening sweet--he sees things as they are when first seeing them:curious & without prejudice.
The animation is simple enough when it comes to Quack (a big blue EGG shaped duck) with a hat (HILARIOUS!) and I like that he and Peep do not have "hands" or wings--they have to find other ways to do things--like using their feet, bodies and heads.
We tape this show for my 4 year old and we, the adults, are the ones to watch it! You will like it too!

As many parents know, toddlers and preschoolers want to do things over and over and over again! That includes watching their favorite TV programs. As a result, I've seen most of the Peep episodes at least 3 times each with my daughter (2 1/2).
She loves this show and I do, too. I like the science aspect of it. That is unique to children's programming for this age, I think.
And as the other mother said in an earlier review, I OFTEN laugh out loud. Especially at "Quack". His sarcastic, self-centered personality is just so funny!!
A good show for kids of all ages. Highly recommended. :-)
