Good family movie good acting and happy ending they dnt make movies like these any more in Bollywood

Sanjeev kumar an actor who can step in any character he wants and this movie is no exception he steals the show again. Shashi kapoor was good as always. Everyone is average good remake good story good acting watch it if you are bored of all the new movies and want to watch actual Bollywood movie which will bring a smile of your face.

A cute fairy-tale of a movie, elevated by the presence of Sanjeev Kumar and Shashi Kapoor.

Durga Devi (Nadira) is a rich widow with a stepdaughter, Shanti (Vidya Sinha), and a daughter, Roopa (Moushumi Chatterjee). She treats Shanti like a servant and is so ill-tempered that she can't keep an actual servant around for very long. So long-suffering, patient Shanti is perpetually left with all the work.

The movie is has such a good story but lack of logic and bad screenplay made the movie unwatchable.

Fun and frolic

If you are a fan of southern make family dramas, then you will like it. This movie has all the cliché ridden ingredients. A wicked stepmother, her pleasure loving daughter, hard working stepdaughter, Two prince charming, monstrous relatives, You name it.

Its always nice to see Nadira but here even old bones Madan puri is watchable. Sanjeev Kumar and Shashi Kapoor are always fun to watch. There isn't any place for acting histrionics but usual family twists and turns make it a good pastime.

Good music with two very sweet songs.

Okay, 7 out of 10.

Anecdotes
The film was originally planned with Prithviraj Kapoor, Raj Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor. Due to delays the casting was changed. Raj Kapoor was then signed to play the role earlier planned for Prithviraj , with Randhir Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor playing his sons. Plans were to sign Babita and Neetu Singh was the female lead roles. The film once again went for further delays. When the film was finally revived, Shreeram Lagoo stepped into the fathers role, with Sanjeev Kumar and Shashi Kapoor signed in the roles of his children.
